New Training Course “Flying into Class B Airspace”
This course is designed to enhance a pilot’s knowledge and familiarity of Class B
airspace in the Los Angeles Basin with a minimum of one stop at a controlled airport and
the option of adding the Catalina Island Familiarization and check out and sharing the
cost with another pilot.
Course outline
 Airspace Review
 VFR Corridors
 Communication Procedures (phraseology)
 Runway Incursion Avoidance
Pilots will be required to:
 Bring current weather briefing
 Fill out Nav Log
 Bring Airport Diagrams
 LAX TAC Chart
Course may be shared equally with another pilot. Groundwork can be given to both
pilots at the same time or individually.
Approximate cost with 4 hours of flight time and one hour of groundwork
