CORPORATE AND ACADEMIC RESEARCH PROJECTS
University of Northwestern Ohio, Lima, Ohio
2012
Discussion forum rubrics: Using rubrics to enhance and increase project management students’
participation in online discussions.
 Examined the impact of using a discussion forum grading rubric to encourage and enhance discussions
(posts) in an online introduction to project management course.
 Control group of 20 students was compared to two experimental groups of 16 students and 17 students.
The two experimental groups were given the specific grading rubric and instructions designed to
encourage online conversation, the control group was not.
 Results indicated that there was a statistical difference in average postings per student between the two
experimental groups and the control group but no statistical difference between the two experimental
groups.
 Results suggested that the use of a rubric specifically designed to engage the student and expand the
student’s learning experience can increase online classroom participation and, as a consequence,
enhance the educational experience for the online project management student and strengthen the
university’s MBA program.
Capella University, Minneapolis, Minnesota

“E-leadership for project managers: A study of situational leadership and virtual project success”

and flexibility, effect virtual project success.
 The Leadership Behavioral Analysis II-Self (LABII-Self) survey was used to assess Project
Management Professionals (PMPs®) managing virtual projects. The PMPs’® virtual project was
assessed by the project management office, program or portfolio manager, project planner or project
lead using the Project Implementation Profile (PIP) Project Performance Subscale survey to determine
the level of project success.

multiple measurements of the effectiveness of the training to facilitate final revisions.
 Designed and developed the Multiple Measurement Instructional Design Model for future programs.
“Multiple Measurement Instructional Design Model Follow-Up Training Study and the Results of the
Productivity Gain Research from June to December 1999”
 Illustrated how follow-up training materials used in the Multiple Measurement Instructional Design
Model for pilot programs can help verify the effectiveness of follow-up training by substantiating
increased productivity.
 Included descriptive statistics, reports and graphs, presentations for management, and executive
summaries.
Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois
