Environmental Science/Stewardship, Wildlife or Fisheries Conservation or Biology, or
closely related field. Scholarship(s) will be selected for students attending a college,
university, or technical school.

Scholarship Application
Mission Statement: The Columbia Basin Walleye Club is a charitable, non-profit, organization
that raises monies through donation, membership, or other fund-raising activities to educate,
enhance, and conserve warm-water aquatic resources; seeks to procure better cooperation with
other organizations or agencies with similar objectives; encourages the observance and
enforcement of game laws, and fights pollution in all waters. Family participation in all activities
is encouraged and club sponsored activities will be directed toward that goal.

1. PERSONAL STATEMENT
Type a short paragraph on each of the following:
A. What honors have you received from school or out-of-school activities or groups? Be
sure to include offices you have held, contests entered and/or won, tests, trips,
scholarships, community service related to your proposed field, participation in biological
or environmental clubs, etc.
B. Emphasize the service work you have done for your school, church, or community
related to the mission statement of the Columbia Basin Walleye Club.
C. Why do you wish an advanced education and what are your near and short-term goals?
D. Why have you chosen the field you indicated and what preparation have you done to be
successful in this field?
E. What is your financial need?
2. ACTIVITIES RESUME
This resume should include information such as: community, church and school related
activities.
It should illustrate to the scholarship selection committee what activities you have been involved
in and specific activities related to the mission statement of the Columbia Basin Walleye Club.
Be sure to list items that are related to the field you wish to pursue (example: elementary
teaching major would list Children in Action classes, Safe Sitter course, volunteering with
church youth group, etc.).
3. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Candidates should obtain three (3) letters of recommendation from adults (of no relation) who
know you well and the manner of their acquaintance.
1. One must be from your school (preferably a senior science-based teacher).
2. One from a source NOT connected with the school
3. One of the applicant’s choice

REQUIREMENTS OF SELECTED APPLICANT
Selected applicant(s) will be awarded the sum amount of $1000.00.
Funds will be disbursed at the end of the second quarter or first semester depending on college,
institution, etc. following completion of academic course activities and within good standing,
maintaining a 2.80 grade point average or higher.
A certified copy of your college/university transcript must be provided to the scholarship
committee of accredited academic position at the end of the aforementioned period before
funds will be dispersed.
