(317) 630-1266 MEDIA ADVISORY/NEWS RELEASE Veterans Day Recognition Events Planned in Indianapolis Wednesday, November 11, 2015 INDIANAPOLIS The Veterans Day Council of Indianapolis invites the citizens of Indianapolis and its surrounding communities to thank our military veterans during this year’s Veterans Day activities. All events will be held Wednesday, November 11th. The morning kicks off with a memorial service on the north steps of the Indiana War Memorial, 431 N. Meridian St. A patriotic musical prelude provided by the Indiana National Guard’s 38th Division Band begins at 10:30 a.m. The memorial service starts at 11:00 a.m. The Flanner and Buchanan Veterans Day Parade, featuring more than 60 units, begins immediately after the memorial service, at about noon. The parade route begins at Michigan and Pennsylvania Streets, moves south on Pennsylvania to New York Street, west to Meridian Street, north on Meridian Street and finishes at North Street. The Walmart Veterans Day Banquet, which includes military, federal, state and local dignitaries, will be held that evening at Primo Banquet Hall & Conference Center South, 2615 National Avenue, Indianapolis.
