Division of Sport Management instructional professor for numerous and varied
undergraduate level courses & development of an online graduate course. In all
courses responsible for selecting curriculum, developing courses, assessing
student performance.
 Sport Marketing (SPMT 423) – emphasis on marketing theories and sport
industry specific impact and implications. Practical application through
experiential learning is the focus as students consult for local sport
businesses. A writing intensive class, additionally instruct students’ on proper
aspects of academic and business style written reports. Presentation and
speaking skills are also assessments and emphasized in this course.
 Sport Communication (SPMT 334)- development of students’ public speaking
skills and on camera speaking abilities along with learning to record video and
edit. A blend of communication theory and important issues pertaining to the
sport industry as well as the roll of mass media and broadcast journalism are
all topics addressed. Developing communication skills is also carried out
through experiential leaning as students create and execute plans to increase
participation & generate sponsorship for a local nonprofit sport organization.
 Research Writing Seminar (SPMT 482) – instruction on proper acquisition
and application of research. A writing intensive course, research is used to
support arguments for action in the form of executive summaries.
 Sport Management (SPMT 333)- emphasis on organizational theory and
organizational behavior and the application thereof

Foundations of Sport Management (SPMT 217) – an introductory course to
this field of study. Overviews of the industry, necessary skills and career
paths are topics of focus in this course.
Online course development
Division of Sport Management Masters level Sport Communication seminar
(SPMT 682). Responsible for developing the curriculum and creating the
assessments for this graduate level course.
