FRENCH I Unit 3 Leçon 7A LA CLOCHETTE What is a personal pronoun What is a verb What is a verb in the infinitive What is a conjugated verb? ER VERBS When a verb has an “er” at the end that means it is in the infinitive form. Basically the r = to in French: Travailler – TO work Manger – TO eat Jouer – TO play When you conjugate a verb you change it’s ending to make it match with the personal pronoun. ER verbs all take the same ending: Je = e je travaille Tu = es tu mages Il = e il joue nous = ons vous = ez ils = ent nous travaillons vous travaillez ils travaillent ** notice that the first thing you do when conjugating is drop the ER. ** je becomes j’ when before a vowel: j’étudie **when the inf of the verb ends in –ger, the nous form ends in –geons: nous nageons nous mangeons nous voyageons I go around the room and ask them if they do the yellow flashcards.
