Seymour Sternberg
Mr. Sternberg has served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of New York
Life Insurance Company since April 1, 1997. He joined New York Life in 1989 as Senior Vice
President with responsibility for the company’s group insurance department. Prior to joining
New York Life, Mr. Sternberg spent 13 years at the Massachusetts Mutual Insurance
Company where he was Senior Executive Vice President and held member positions on both
the company’s Office of the Chairman and Board of Directors. From 1999 to 2002, he
served as a U.S. representative to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and Business
Advisory Council. Mr. Sternberg serves on the board of Express Scripts, a pharmaceutical
benefits manager. He is a member of the Business Roundtable serving on its Task Forces
on International Trade and Investment, Security and Fiscal Policy and is a member of the
boards of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Council on Foreign Relations. CIT director
since December 2005.
