Introduction to Distance Learning Programme

To Match ISF on Board Training Record Book for

Engineer Cadets

(2013 Edition)

(TAR Book required for MEO 3 NZ Examination)

Introduction

As per the latest requirements of the Maritime New Zealand, coming in effect from

1 st January 2015, the applicants appearing for MEO 3 COC Examination will be required to complete the ISF On Board Training Record Book for Engine Cadets

(2013 Edition). STCW 2010

The latest version of record book is lot more demanding when compared to the previous version. This distance learning programme has been designed (and updated in June 2013) to assist learning on board in line with the requirements of the Record Book, and guide the candidates in filing up the record book in a proper way.

The DLP will assist the candidate learn in systematic way, develop in depth knowledge of machinery and its operation, complete the record book properly, and be better prepared for the COC examination.

The DLP been designed and developed professionally by a Chief Engineer with over 38 years of experience in Maritime Education, and has pioneered the concept of Distance Learning in India.

The course material consists of:

 Guidelines for the candidate

Assignment books (Six) Containing 16 units (as per attached list)

Learning guides (one) containing 22 units (as per attached list of contents)

A book on workshop practice, lubrication and basic Metallurgy

A carry case

The fee for the revised DLP is Rs. 9000/ + Rs. 500/ for packing and courier service if the course material is not collected in person at Mumbai. The fee to be paid through a DD or remittance as detailed below. (This does not include assessment of the TAR Book required by Indopacific Services before proceeding to NZ for the preparatory course and examination.)
