CHOOSING A MUSLIM WIFE/HUSBANDNew
MATRIMONIAL AFFAIRS (i) PROPOSAL OF MARRIAGE
Inspite of growing up to the age of sexual maturity, if a boy or a girl has not received a suitable offer of
marriage, recite surah al Ahzaab (chapter 33) regularly. Inshallah, soon he or she will be married.
If a gown up girl is not received any offer of marriage recite surah al Mumtahinah (chapter 60) five times
daily, Inshallah, soon she will be married.
If a grown up girl is not receiving any offer of marriage recite surah at Taha (chapter 20) and blow breath
on a glass of water and let the girl drink it. Inshallah, soon she will be married.
If a grown up girl is not receiving an offer of marriage, recite verse 36 of Yasin 100 times before salat of
tehajjud for 40 days, inshallah soon she will be married.
SUBH'AANALLAD'EE KHALAQAL AZWAAJA KULLAHAA MIMMAA TUMBITUL ARZ'U WA MIN
ANFUSIHIM WA MIMMAA LAA YA'LAMOON
It is written in Biharul Anwar that to invoke the almighty Allah that a grown up boy or a girl be suitably
married carry out the following a'mal of du-a'a of Mashlul
(i) Recite du-a'a al Mashlul (see selected Soorahas and Du-a'as volume one and two) preferably after Fajr
salat or any obligatory salat for 40 consecutive days.
(ii) Do not eat animal flesh
(iii) Always remain the state of Ablution
(iv) Wear Ihram dress at the time of reciting the du-a'a
Dua'a 181
To invoke the almighty Allah that a grown up boy or a girl be suitably married, recite the following du-a'a
after giving gifts to the deserving mumin brothers or sisters.
“O Causer of the Causes; O He who opens
the doors (to opportunities); O’ He who
gives an answer to the call from wherever
(He is called).”

Dua'a 182
According to Biharul Anwar to invoke the almighty Allah that a grown up boy or girl be suitably married
recite the following du-a'a 100 times daily for 40 consecutive days after any obligatory salat.
“Make easy (my difficulties), by Your
superabundant favours, O’ the Most Mighty.”

Dua'a 183
It is written in Bihar al Anwar that if a grown up girl is not receiving any offer of marriage, her father
should pray a 2 rak-at salat (like Fajr salat) on Friday after Jumu-ah prayers and after the salam go into
Sajdah and recite surah al Muzzammil (chapter 73) 21 times. Inshallah very soon she will be married to a
suitable man.
Dua'a 184
It is written in Biharul Anwar to write the following portion of verse 132 of at Ta Ha on a paper with the
solution of musk, saffron and rose water and bind it as a Ta'wid on the right arm, if a man desires to be
married soon. Bind another Ta'wid like above on the right arm of the man or woman who is negotiating
the proposal of marriage.
“It is We who give you sustenance, and the
good of the hereafter is for those who have
Allah consciousness and guard themselves
against evil.”

It is written in Kanzul Maknun to write the following du-a'a on a paper like a Ta'wid and bind it on the
right arm of the grown up girl who is not receiving any offer of marriage. Inshallah, soon she will be
married.
As there is ismi a'z'am in this du-a'a, it should be removed during menses.
O Light of everything which guides them,
You are He who cuts asunder darkness with
His light.

According to Imam Jafar bin Muhammad as Sadiq, it is written in Biharul Anwar, whoever desires to marry
should recite the following du-a'a before making a formal request for marriage.
“O’ Allah! I desire to marry, so arrange for
me a woman from those who willingly
abstain from what is unlawful and who
safeguards her soul for my sake and
because of her, not only my means of
sustenance will increase, but also make
there be in it abundance and also make it
sure that she will give me a virtuous son,
who will be a noble successor in my life and
after my death.”
Allahumma Innee Urreedu An Atazawwaja Faqaddir Lee Minan Nisaa-I A’fihunna Farjajan wa
Ah’fadh’ihunna Lee Fee Nafsihaa Wa Awsa-i-Hunna Lee Rizwan Wa A-dhamahunna Lee

Khalafan Saalihan Fee Hayaatee Wa Ba`da Mawtee.
Dua'a 187
It is written in Biharul Anwar that if unmanageable impediments are obstructing your marriage write the
following verses (Ta Ha: 131, 132) with saffron and keep it on the body. Inshallah all hindrances will
disappear.
“Nor strain your eyes in longing for the
things We have given for enjoyment to
parties of them, the splendour of the life of
this world, through which We test them: but
the provision of thy Lord is better and more
enduring. And enjoin prayer on your family,
and be constant therein. We ask you not to
provide sustenance: We provide it for you.
But the (fruit of) the Hereafter is for
righteousness.”
Wa Laa Tamuddanna Aynayka Ilaa Maa Matta`-Naa Bihee Azwaajam Minhum Zahratal Hayaatid
Dunyaa Linaftinahum Feeh Wa Rizqu Rabbika Kharyuw Wa Abqaa. Wa`mur Ahlaka Bis Salaati
Wastabir Alayhaa Laa Nas- Aluka Rizqaa Nahnu Narzuquk Wal A`aqibatu Littaqwaa.
Dua'a 188
It is written in Biharul Anwar that Imam Muhammad bin Ali al Baqir said :
"After Nikah (marriage) when the bride and bridegroom come into their house, both should pray a two
rakat salat. Then they should say salawat and all those who have come with them should also say salawat
and amin. Then the bridegroom should recite the following du-a'a
O my Allah, bless me with her love,
friendship and readiness to please (me). Let
me also be always ready to please her.
Keep us together and let it be the best
togetherness, and let us always compensate
each other easily; verily, You like the lawful
and dislike the unlawful.

for drinking.

right hand on some sweet eatables and give it to your spouse to eat.

Recite the following du-a'a (verse 31 of Aali Imran) 3 times and every time blow breath through the palm
of the right hand on a glass of pure water and give it to your spouse to drink.
Say (O Muhammad): “If you love
Allah, then follow me: Allah will love
you and forgive you your sins, verily.
Allah is forgiving merciful."

of (earthly) good above the
rememberance of my Lord until (the
sun) was hidden in the veil (of night).”

Recite verse 83 of Yasin on some sweet eatables and give it to both of them to eat. Inshallah very soon
they will come very close to each other.
Therefore glory be o Him in whose
hand in the kingdom of all things. Unto
Him you will all return.
There is no might nor strength with
(any one) save Allah, the high, the
great.

Allah, and the seal of the prophets.

As directed in Biharul Anwar, take an egg (hen) clean it and write verse 128 of al Bara-at on it with the
name of your spouse. Enclose the egg in a pot with a cover and bury it under the earth where fire burns
everyday. Inshallah the spouse will come very close to you. If there has been a separate, an immediate
reconciliation will take place.
Indeed a messenger from among you
has come to you. Any distress that
befalls you grieves him, (he is) most
kind and merciful to the believers.

It is written in Biharul Anwar that in order to create love between man and wife write the names of Ashab
al kahf (the people of the cave) and then the name of your spouse with her or his mother's or father's
name and wear it as a ta'wid on the right arm.
The names of seven sleepers (followers of Prophet Isa) in Christian books are as under :
Constantine
Dionysius
John
Malchus
Martinian
Maximiam
Serapion
According to Hafiz Farman Ali Sahib they were six and the seventh was a dog. Their names are given

To create love between man and wife (who is showing signs of indifference)
(i) Write Surah as Zukhruf (chapter 43) on a plate of China Clay and wash it with pure water and give it to
the wife to drink.
Or
(ii) The aggrieved husband should recite Surah al Jumu-a'h (chapter 62) 5 times a day
Or
(iii) Keep the written text of the said Surah on the body as a tawid
Or
(iv) The aggrieved husband should recite Ayat al Kursi (see du-a'a 39 ) equal in number of the total of his
and his wife's name as per the rule of abjad.
Or
(v) He should wear the written text of Ayat ul Kursi as a tawid on his body.
To remove misunderstanding and discord and instead create love and understanding
between man and wife

Recite Surah Jumah (chapter 62) on Friday and invoke the Almighty Allah to fulfill your desire.

Recite (AL MAANI-U) The Preventer as many times as possible.
(3)
Recite the following portion of verse 54 of al Ma-idah on some sweet eatables and let both of them eat it.
He loves them and who love Him,
humble towards the believers, mighty
against the infidels.

One of them should recite the following du'a on some fresh fragrant flowers with full concentration and
send them to the other spouse for smelling them.
Say 11 times - O my Allah, send
blessings on Muhammad and on the
progeny of Muhammad.
Then say - Allah is He whose help is to
be sought against what you describe.
O my helper. O my affectionate Lord,
save me from every anguish.
Then say 11 times : O my Allah, send
blessings on Muhammad and on the
progeny of Muhammad.

Recite the following verses 29 and 30 of surah Yusuf on some sweet eatables and let both the husband
and wife eat them to remove discord that has made their life miserable.
(Al Aziz said:) “Ignore this affair, O
Yusuf; and you (O my wife) ask
forgiveness for your sin; verily you
have been of the guilty.” And the
women in the city said: “The wife of al
Aziz (nobleman of high rank) seeks to
seduce here page from his (pure) self.
Verily he has inflamed her with violent
love. Verily we see her in manifest
error.”

According to Biharul Anwar to create love and understanding between husband and wife, if they are
drifting from each other, recite a 2 rakat salat after Isha, at any time during the night, on
Monday. In each rakat, after the recitation of al Fatihah, recite surah ad Duha (chapter 93) 10 times, and
after the salam recite the following dua 25 times.

Blessings of Allah be on Muhammad and on his children, all of whom are the best creation among His all
creations; for the purpose of (creation) love (in the heart of (name of husband with his mother) for (name
the wife with her mother).

Recite the following verse 96 of Maryam on some sweet eatables and give it to both of them to
eat. Inshallah they will come close to each other very soon.
Verily those who believe and do good
deeds, ARRAHMAN will appoint for
them love.

Recite following verses (last portion of 62 and 63 of Anfal) on some sweet eatables and give it to both of
them to eat. Inshallah there will be a positive result very soon.
It is He who strengthened you with His
help and with the believers.
He has put affection between their
hearts. Had you spent all that is in the
earth you could not have put affection
between their hearts, but Allah put
affection between them; verily He is
mighty, wise.

According to Biharul Anwar to create and develop love between man and wife, after marriage, if there is
discord and misunderstanding, write verses 9 to 14 of Az Zukhruf on 4 pages and bury these 4 pages
separately in four corners of the house (One page in every corner)
If you ask them: “Who created the
heavens and the earth?”
They will certainly say: ‘The allmighty, the all-knowing created them.’
He who made the earth for you as a
cradle, and laid out paths upon it for
you so that you may be rightly guided.
Who sends down water from the
heaven in due measure; then We raise
to life with it a land which was dead-so
shall We bring you forth (from your
graves on the day of resurrection).
He who created pairs of every thing
and made for you ships and cattle on
which you ride,
So that (when) you sit firm and square
on their backs, and remember the
bounty of your Lord, and when so
seated, you may say: “Glory be to Him
who subjected these to us, because we
were not able to do so ourselves.
Verily we shall return to our Lord.”

It is written in Biharul Anwar that in order to create love between man and wife write verse 63 of al Anfal
and verse 7 of al Mumtahinah with saffron on a piece of paper after praying a 2 rakat salat on Sunday
wash it with pure water and both of them should drink it for 7 days.
He has put affection between their
hearts. Had you spent all that is in the
earth you could not have put affection
between their hearts, but Allah put
affection between them; verily He is
mighty, wise.
It may be that Allah will create
friendship between you and those of
them whom you holed as enemies.
Allah is all-powerful. Allah is oftforgiving, ever-merciful.

If the husband is displeased with the wife, she should recite the following verse 165 of al Baqarah
on some sweat eatables and give it to him to eat. Inshaallah soon there will be positive result.
And yet there are some among men
who take for themselves objects of
worship besides Allah whom they love
as they love Allah; but the believers
are stronger in love from Allah. And if
those who are unjust could only see
when they see the punishment, that to
Allah belongs all powers, and verily
Allah is severe in punishment.

Recite 30 times verse 129 of al Bara-at during the Friday night, keeping in mind the name of the
displeased spouse. Inshallah, there will be harmony between the two spouses again.
But if they turn away, say: “Allah
suffices me. There is no god but He.
On Him do I rely, and He is the Lord of
the great throne.”

If there is discord after marriage between man and wife, in order to create love, it is written in
Biharul Anwar, to write verses 1 and 2 of Ad Dahr with saffron and wash it with rose water and both of them should drink
it.
Did not a space of time pass over man
when he was not anything worth
mentioning?
Verily We created man from a drop of
mingled fluid (life-germ) in order to
test and try him; so We gave him
hearing and sight.

According to Biharul Anwar, if husband is taking interest in another woman, gambling and
drinking etc.,etc., the wife should recite a 2 rakat salat and in each rakat after reciting surah al
Fatihah, Recite :
(i) verse 7 of al Mumtahinah
(ii) say 70 times
O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad
and on the progeny of Muhammad, as
many asthose who beseech You to
send blessings on him.

name) heart grow soft and gentle just
as You melt the iron for Dawud, peace
be on him, and make him mild and
yielding to me just as You made the
winds tractable and submissive to
Sulayman son of Dawud, peace be on
both of them, and put affection
between us just as You put love

To make a bad tempered and wicked husband docile and gentle recite the following du-a'a on some sweet
eatables and give it to him to eat.
O everliving, O self-subsisting, O

Your mercy, O the most merciful.

AWLAAD (CHILDREN / OFFSPRINGS)
It is stated in Ahaadees that Awlaad are a bounty from Almighty Merciful Allaah,
particularly when they are on the right path. Sons are Ne'mat and daughters are Rahmat.
Parents are obliged to give proper and quality education to their children together with moral
uplifting so that they may remain steadfast on the right path throughout their life. Children are
a trust from Allaah so the parents should not overlook their duty towards them. They should
be trained and educated in such a way that they could not be taken astray by anyone,
especially in these days of immoralities which has been lavishly scattered all around the
globe.
It is also said that if Awlaad commits sinful acts then the parents also will be taken to task,
and when parents die and leave behind them righteous Awlaad who perform good deeds
then the parents also shall be rewarded. As for secular education it has no any guarantee for
its benefits but religious education is cent percent guaranteed for.

Imaam Jaa'far Saadiq (A.S.) said that if a woman is being late in conception for a child,
she should recite this Duaa:
Allaahumma Laa Tazar'nee Fardan Wa Anta Khayrul Waaritheen, Waheedan Wahashan Fa
Yaksuru An Tafakkuri Bal Habalee Aakibata Swidqin Dhukooran Wa Unaasan Aanasu Bihim
Minal Wahshati Wa Askunu Ilayhim Minal Wahdati Wa Ashkuruka Inda Tamaamin Ni'amati,
Yaa Wahhaabu Yaa Adhweemu Yaa Mu'adh-dhamu, Thumma A'atwini Fee Kulli Aafiyatin

A person who wishes his wife to be pregnant: on Friday recite 2 rak'at Namaaz, with
prolonged Rukuu' and Sujood, and recite this Duaa:
Alaahumma Innee As'aluka Bimaa Sa'alaka Bihee Zakariyya, Rabbee Laa Tadharnee
Fardan Wa Anta Khayrul Waaritheen, Alaahumma Hablee Min Ladunka Dhurriyyatan
Twayyibatan, Innaka Samee'ud-Duaa'a. Alaahumma Bismika Istahalaltu Haa Wafee
Amaanatika Akhadha-tuhaa Fa'in Kadhayta Fee Rahamihaa Waladan Waj'alhu Ghulaamam
Mubaarakan Zakiyyan Walaa Taj'al-Lish-Shaytwaani Feehi Shirkan Walaa Naseeba .

It is narrated that a person who does not have any children should make firm intention
that if Allaah (S.W.T.) bestows a child to him he shall name it ALI or HUSAYN, then
Inshaa'Allaah he will get children. And if a woman does the intention of naming the child
MUHAMMAD or ALI, she will conceive a baby-boy.

A certain person complained to Imaam Muhammad Baaqir (A.S.) for the scarcity of
children the Imaam showed him this Amal: For three days, after Namaaz-e-Sub'h and Ishaa,
recite 70 times SUB'HAANALLAAH and 70 times ASTAGHFIRULLAAH. And then recite this
Duaa:
Istaghfiru Rabbukum Innahoo Kaana Ghaffaaran Yursilus-Samaa'a Alaykum Midraaran Wa
Yumdid Bikum Bi Amwaalin Wa Baneena, Waja'allakum Jannaatin Wa Yaj'allakum Anhaara .

When a woman is in extreme labour pains her husband should recite the following
Aayat for quick delivery of the child:
Fa Ajaa'ahal Makhaadhu Ilaa Jiz'in-Nakhlati, Qaalat Yaa Laytanee Mittu Qabla Haadhaa Wa
Kuntu Nasiyyam Mansiyya. Fanaadaahaa Min Tahtihaa Allaa Tahdhanee Qad Ja'ala
Rabbuki Tahtaki Sariyyan Wa Huzzee Ilayki Bi Jiz'in Nakhlati Tusaaqit Alayki Rutaban
Janiyya.

To keep children safe from calamities recite AR-RABBO many times.
(2)
Recitation of AR-RAQEEBO many times also safeguards the children.
(3)
If one recites AL-BARRO 202 times his/her children shall be lucky and successful in
their lawful dealings.
(4)
To make the children faithful and obedient to parents recite this Duaa 7 times after
every Waajib Namaaz:
Rabbee Hablee Min Ladunka Dhurriyyatan Twayyibatan Innaka Sameeud-Duaa.

When a child shows signs of disobedience one should recite 7 times SURAH ASHSHOORA or once SURAH AL-AHZAAB and pray for the cure of it.

To keep the child safe from misfortune, accidents, or mischief write SURAH ALWAAQIAH with saffron and tie it as a Ta'veez.

(10) Imam Ali (A.S.) advised one of his companions that if he wished to be blessed with
sufficient children he should regularly recite Adhaan in clear voice in his house.
(11) If a woman does not give birth to a child within reasonable period then she and her
husband should recite SURAH WAL-FAJR 3 to 7 times daily.
(12) Make the child increase its intellectual power by reciting AL-BAAISU as often as
possible.

Principles of Upbringing Children
Sahifa Sajjadia Supplication for ones Children
Write surah al Waqi-ah (chapter 56) with saffron and tie it as a ta'wid to keep the child safe from
misfortune, accident or mischief.
Write surah al Balad (chapter 90) with saffron and tie it as a taw'id to keep the child safe from the evil of
genie or an evil eye.
To keep safe the child from early untimely death the child or the mother should wear a ta'wid (Bismillaahir
rah'maanir rah'eeem) written one hundred and sixty time on the hide of a deer, a sheep, or on a piece of
paper.
To keep safe the child from early untimely death the father or the mother should recite surah al
Muzzammil (chapter 73) 7 times and every time, should blow the breath through the palm of the right
hand on a betal nut and put it around the neck of the child as a tawid.

According to Imam Jafar bin Muhammad as Sadiq recite the following du-a'a at the time of circumcision.
O Allah, this (we do) in compliance with
Your command and the traditions of Your
prophet, Your blessings be on him and
on his children, to obey You and Your
prophet to fulfill Your will, intention, and
to carry out the rules You have decided
to make to be followed unconditionally
according to which he has to experience
the heat of ir0on in circumcision, and
bleeding suitability of which You know
better then us. O Allah, cleanse him of
sins, let him live a long natural life,
protect him from all dangers to his body,
and let him never suffer the pangs of
hunger and anguish of poverty, because
You know and we do not.

According to Imam Jafar bin Muhammad as Sadiq recite either of the following du'a'a at the time of
slaughtering the animal for aqiqah (The ceremony of shaving the hair of an infant on the sixth day after
birth)
If the child is a female say words in brackets :
In the name of Allah and by Allah, this
aqiqa (sheep slaughtered) is of
(mention the name of the child with
father’s name); its flesh (instead of)
his/her flesh, its blood (instead of)
his/her blood, its bones, (instead of)
his/her bones (are offered) to You. O
Allah, (accept it) as that by which (this
child) may be protected and preserved,
in the name of the children of
Muhammad, blessings of Allah be on
him and on his children, and peace.
In the name of Allah, by Allah, praise
be to Allah, Allah is the greatest, faith
is in Allah, thanks to the messenger of
Allah (blessings of Allah be on him and
on his children) for safeguarding His
command, gratitude for His
sustenance, and awareness of us Ahl ul
Bayt (our merits) by His grace.
Recite the following if the child is
male :
O Allah, verily You have given us a son.
You alone know what You have given
and what has been granted, and (You
alone know everything about) whatever
You create. So accept (our offering
offered) in accordance with Your
command and the traditions of Your
prophet and messenger (blessings of
Allah be on him and on his children),
and keep away the accursed Shaytan
from us. This blood is pouring out for
Your sake only (a.s.) there is no
partner to share (it) with You, O my
Allah, praise be to Allah, the Lord of the
worlds. O my Allah, this meat (instead
of) his meat, this blood (instead of) his
blood, these bones (instead of) his
bones., these hair (instead of) his hair,
this skin (instead of) his skin (are
offered to You), so O my Allah, accept
this (sacrifice) instead of the sacrifice
of (mention the name of the child.

To keep safe the child from teething troubles write surah al Qaf (chapter 50) with saffron, wash it with
pure water, and then wash the mouth of the child with it.

To accustom the child to nourishment other than the mother's milk write verse 14 of Luqman on a piece
of paper and put it around the neck of the child as a ta'wid.
We have enjoined on man concerning
his parents – his mother bears him in
weakness upon weakness, weaning
him in two years - : “Be grateful to Me
and to your parents. To Me is the
ultimate return.”

If a child has developed the habit of eating things (earth etc) which he or she should not, write verse 53
and 54 of as Saba on a piece of paper and put it as a ta'wid around the neck of the child to stop the habit
of eating harmful things.
They disbelieved in it before, and
conjectured about the unseen from a
far off place. A gulf shall be created
between them and that which they will
(eagerly) desire, as was done in the
past for the likes of them. Verily they
were also in disquieting doubt.

If a child weeps and weeps, write verses 108 and 112 of surah Ta Ha on the hide of a deer and put it as a
ta'wid around the neck of the child to stop the non stop weeping.
On that day they shall follow the
summoner (straight); no crookedness
(can they show) him, and the voices
shall be lowered before Arrahman, and
you shall not hear a sound but the
lightest footfall. On that day no
intercession shall be of any service
other than his whom Arrahman grants
permission, and whose word He is
pleased to accept. He knows what is
before them and what is behind them,
while they do not comprehend it with
(their) knowledge.
Allah faces shall be humble before the
everliving, the self-subsisting, and
whosoever bears a load of iniquity will
certainly be disappointed. And
whosoever does good deeds, and is a
believer, shall not fear injustice, nor
any curtailment (of what is his due).

As soon as a child begins to disobey recite surah Shu-ara (chapter 26) 7 times or recite surah Ahzab
(chapter 33)once and every time blow breath towards the child. Inshallah, the child shall start to obey
and follow the elders.
Dua'a 258
If a child, while growing up, shows signs of disobeying the elders, recite the following portion of verse 15
of Ahqaf 7 times after every wajib salat, keeping in mind the aggressive child.
O Lord, do good to me with regard to
my offspring. Verily I turn repentant to
You, andverily I am one of those who
submit.

To increase milk of the mother write surah al Hijr (chapter 15) or surah Ya Sin (chapter 36) with solution
of saffron and rose water, wash it with pure water and give it to the mother to drink.
Or
Write verse 21 of al Muminun as described above and give it to the mother to drink.
Verily there is a lesson for you in the
cattle. We give you to drink of what is
in their bellies; there are, in them,
many benefits for you; and of them
you eat:

To increase milk of the mother:
(i) write verses 8 and 9 of ar Rad on a piece of paper and bind it as a ta'wid on the right arm of the
mother.
(ii) and write them again with saffron on a china plate, wash it with pure water and give it to the mother
to drink.
Allah knows what every female bears,
and that which the wombs fall short (of
completion) and that which they
exceed. And every thing with Him is
measured. (He is) the knower of the
unseen and the seen, the great, the
highest high
