Job Specification – Hospitality Sales and Marketing Manager Objective Set and achieve the conference and banqueting (non-match day) budget turnover, maximising on profit. Write and deliver the annual sales & marketing plan. Manage a positive business relationship with all potential and prospective clients. To organise and operate all events/tasks, that you are given responsibility for, ensuring the operational efficiency and at all times aiming to exceed the clients expectations. Attributes 1. Must be interested and understand the conference / meeting and banqueting market and have ability to assess the impact or importance of changes for potential clients. 2. Must have sales experience, ideally in hospitality / conference / sports market. 3. Must have sales experience, ideally in conference/event market (although a successful sales career in other sectors would be considered) 4. Must be focused upon delivery of targets/budgets at all times. 5. Ability to work to set targets across both activity levels, profitability and sales revenues. 6. Must have initiative and self drive and work on their own initiative through an agreed strategy. 7. Ability to drive, manage, motivate and lead teams to success via man-management and by example. 8. Must have initiative and self drive to get out into the market and proactively sell the facilities directly via area sales teams. 9. Ability to construct and present high value proposals at senior level to potential clients 10. Must posses acceptable levels of gravitas, personality and skill as determined by requirements of role. 11. Must have ability to represent the company professionally at the highest levels. 12. Able to drive. 13. Produce weekly, monthly & quarterly sales activity reports for General Manager & Directors. 14. Research and attend business exhibitions locally & nationally. 15. Hold a weekly event brief meeting with the on-site team. Activities and Core Skills 1. Compile and maintain Access/Excel database of all UK major agencies and potential local clients 2. Monitor market to see where growth and sales will be. 3. Contact prospective clients both by telephone and personal call and must be a self starter 4. Be able to prioritise incoming enquiries and business and convert into live business. 5. Prepare marketing collaterals, mail shots, events, newsletter and assist with maintenance of website and other methods of communicating with Clients both potential and existing. 6. Review (monthly / weekly) sales targets against budgets to exceed targets and prepare a report for LC & the Club 7. Prepare, with guidance, press releases on contract renewals and new contract wins. 8. Work to and evolve a sales and marketing strategy to maximise business sales and profitability. 9. Be able to prioritise incoming enquiries and convert into live business. 10. Effective liaison/communication with on-site operations regarding functions/events. 11. Exceed sales revenue targets and prepare monthly reports for area sales manager. 12. Must be sales focused, driven and persistent in closing deals 13. Ability to consistently deliver activity and revenues in line with set targets 14. Ability to represent and network the company in a professional manner at all times. 15.
