Susan,
On behalf of my Business Writing class, thank you for sharing your time and expertise with us and
explaining many of the tools that my students need to use in completing their recommendation reports. I
felt the experience was highly beneficial--for business and non-business majors alike. I am going to tell
other instructors about this offering in my teaching seminar on Friday. I hope to talk to you next fall
about doing something similar then.
Thank you again, and my best to you.

Subject: Thank YOU
Hi, Susan,
I agree the meeting went very well. You did a really good job of pulling everything together. I thought
throughout the meeting there was an exceptional enthusiasm and engagement. Basically, I figure the
meetings are good meetings because people come back year after year. I thought this one
was special. Using the online form of presentation allows packing a lot more content into the time. We
covered a great deal of ground in just four hours (excluding your tour.) We only took one short break
plus the trips up and down. I think everyone enjoyed coming to Miami and getting the chance to see
your library. The campus looked beautiful. We also had many very good suggestions for agenda items,
although it took some time to elicit them. I thought having the Xavier people -- this was the first time
they have attended -- brought a new viewpoint. I could not have been more pleased.
Talk to you soon. It looks as if our GMID proposal is going to go through. Thank you for your help with
that. Without that page of comments you sent, I do not think it would have happened. We just have to
work out the technical aspects, but they agreed to our offer of what we could pay.
Have a good summer!
John

Subject: RE: "Pop" & "Made to stick" books
Hi Susan,
What amazing follow up and good news. Thank you for your interest in this class and the materials that
might be helpful to assist the MU students with self presentation and pitches.
So glad to know you have Made to Stick. Can I request that the Introduction and Epilogue be copied to
an electronic reserve? Is that the correct terminology? It will be useful to have the students be able to
read these two chapters prior to my class on October 30th. When I requested the reserve last week, I was
told that MU did not have a copy of the book. Password is Entrepresents. It should stay on reserve until
November 16.
Let me know if I should come by tomorrow to make this request in person.
I’ll stop by tomorrow to look at Susan Morem’s book. Found some good material in two books that I
checked out yesterday. I’ll compile my list tomorrow also.
Thank you again for all of your help!
Best,
Kathy

Subject: Re: Hi
Susan: Thanks for your note. I had the ERISA chapter reviewed by a partner in my daughter’s firm who
specializes in Benefits Law. She made a few changes – very helpful – but really liked the chapters and
confirmed my legal research. So, I am pleased and RELIEVED! I am working on the last chapter –
Life, & Disability Insurance, and Pay for Time Not Worked. It is much easier. What can you say: “I
have life insurance. Ahh, how much? I dunno. How much does it cost? Ahh, not much. ZZZZZzzzzz.” I
have a full load this semester so while I will have some final editing before the “go to print date” of
March 15, I will feel really good when the chapters are in. We have nothing exciting planned. Probably
babysitting. I would like to acknowledge your great help in the forward of my book. Is this Ok with
you? You have been just great. Is there any library policy on this that I should be aware of? Tom
