For English, we have sight-word testing every Friday. German Activities English Activities Find 3 pictures that have the letter N as the beginning sound. Glue the pictures on a sheet of paper and write the German words. Here are our German vocabulary words with N and n Practice new word families! Make a list of words that start with each letter. Draw a picture for each word. Math/Science Activities Freeze water in a plastic container over-night. Have your child describe what they did to freeze the water, and write and draw what happens to the ice! Reading and Writing Activities Write a 5-10 word sentence in English or German. Cut out the words and mix them up. Have your child rearrange the words to make a complete sentence. Glue the words on a paper with spaces in between. Write the sentence below with spaces in between words. Try turning water into gas! Put an ice cube on a hot skillet and watch it melt. Hold a flat surface above the skillet to collect the water and watch it condense! Have your child choose a book to read. Read the book and then ask what happened in the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Find 4 toys in your house that you like to play with. Can you find a cylinder (Zylinder), rectangular prism (rechtwinkliges Prisma), cone (Kegel), cube (Wuerfel), and sphere (Kugel). Illustrate your findings using tally marks to indicate how many of each solid shape you could find. Try to stack the different shapes. Draw which solid shapes stack and which do not stack. Practice reading and writing sight words! Make flashcards for each word that you know and practice a little everyday. Only introduce one set at a time.
