Organizational Structure Assignment

This assignment is to be completed in your assigned group (see below)

Contact an organization and set up a meeting with someone to speak to them
about their organizational structure. While you’re there, you must obtain a diagram
of their organizational structure. If they do not have one, you must get enough
information to generate one yourself.

Present your findings in a PowerPoint/Impress presentation. Explain the
following:
effectiveness of structure
hierarchy of authority
formal and informal groups within the structure and their effect on the
organization
span of control
how effectively members of the organization communicate with each other
how effective managers are at delegating authority
corporate culture and how it is affected by the current organizational structure

At the end of the presentation, include a section for your own analysis and
areas for possible improvement. Be sure to give rationale for your suggestions. If
you think it cannot be improved upon, explain what features make it so perfect and
why.

The organization you choose can be a for-profit or non-profit organization.
There can be no doubles, so sign up for organizations will be on a first-come, firstserved basis.
