qui est-ce ?” (Look, who is it ?)
Children guess “C’est le loup?” etc

Introduce the book “Promenons-nous..”
Read the text (or play sound file) and let
the children enjoy the illustrations. Don’t
worry at this stage about translating the
whole text. Can they remember the
words for the animals? (les cochons –
pigs, le lapin – rabbit, le canard – duck, le
mouton – sheep).
Re-read the book stopping at each picture
of eyes and ask “Qui est-ce?”
Re-read the text and get children in pairs
to write as many French words as they
can that they know just from listening to
the sound. Reveal the text and get
children to count correct words.

rugby, je fais de la natation. Class then hum/la
the song doing the action. (Use the traffic light
cards to make children go faster/slower or freeze
frame the action)

Hold an end of year revision quiz. Set up teams in

animals and when they want to buzz with an answer
they need to make their animal sound!

Play ‘The price is right’. Have items of clothing with
different prices in euros, teams have to name the item
and guess the right price.
Play ‘Guess the name’ spell out a French name,
teams buzz in and guess the name, they must spell it

Play ‘C’est combien?’ Hold up two or more prepared
prices. Teams have to add up the bill correctly.
Play ‘The preposition game’ Give each team an
object. Call out a preposition. They have to put the
object somewhere to represent the preposition and
say a phrase. Eg Le crayon est devant Peter.
