HL 1 The is a 2 or 3-plunger High Pressure Homogenizer consisting of a positive displacement, reciprocating high pressure pump, fitted with a homogenizing vale assembly, specifically selected for each application. The homogenizing valve is available in single- or two-stage configuration. Pressure adjustment is either manual (handwheel) or hydraulically (HVA). A selection is made from vave materials like Rexalloy, Stellite, TungstenCarbide or Ceramics, which allows a wide range of products to be processed, including low or highly viscous, fibrous, biological ceel material, and abrasive liquids. The pump - or cylinderblock is made of a special alloy, corrosion resistant, onepiece forging. It uses a minimum of parts, and because of the special design, surface treatment, and by avoiding dead-areas, the HST homogenizer is highly sanitary and fully CIP-able. Cylinderblocks are either of the poppet type, or the ball valve design, and the various types of cylinderblocks allow products to be processed either septically, or aseptically. HL 2 The is a 3-plunger High Pressure Homogenizer consisting of a positive displacement, reciprocating high pressure pump, fitted with a homogenizing vale assembly, specifically selected for each application. The HL 4 ~t is a 3-plunger High Pressure Homogenizer consisting of a positive displacement, reciprocating high pressure pump, fitted with a homogenizing vale assembly, specifically selected for each application. The homogenizing valve is available in single- or two-stage configuration. Pressure adjustment is either manual (handwheel) or hydraulically (HVA). A selection is made from vave materials like Rexalloy, Stellite, Tungsten-Carbide or Ceramics, which allows a wide range of products to be processed, including low or highly viscous, fibrous, biological ceel material, and abrasive liquids. It uses a minimum of parts, and because of the special design, surface treatment, and by avoiding dead-areas, the HST homogenizer is highly sanitary and fully CIP-able. HL 5 The is a 5-plunger High Pressure Homogenizer consisting of a positive displacement, reciprocating high pressure pump, fitted with a homogenizing vale assembly, specifically selected for each application. The homogenizing valve is available in single- or two-stage configuration. Pressure adjustment is either manual (handwheel) or hydraulically (HVA). A product, brought under high pressure, is passed through an adjustable annular gap. During this passage, the product is subjected to extremely high turbulant, laminary and cavitational force. Under the influence of these phenomena fat -particles and/or agglomerates are broken up, reduced in size and distributed equally. This physical energy transfer increases stability, enhances taste, color-intensity, consistency and shelflife. In many cases this even climates or reduces the amount of emulsifiers or stabilizers required. As a result, the highpressure homogenizer very often is the most vital part in modern production lines. Application know-how, support and development Product improvement and cost savings are our customers' greatest goals. HST therefore offers application technology, along with laboratory homogenizers for smallscale testing and product development. Machines are available for in-house testing and development work. Call us and make use of our experience for better products and profitability! The HST Homogeniser drive end of a 5 plunger machine The drive-end is made of high-quality ductile cast iron. The power transmission from the standard 150o rpm motor follows through a primary V -belt transmission onto the drive shaft. The drive shaft is coupled to the eccentric shaft by means of a rugged herring bone pinion-and-gear. This two-step speed reduction results in low eccen tric speeds, quiet, low-noise operation and a minimum of mainten ance. Alternative drive systems, two-speed or variable speed motors are available upon request. All production machines have pressurized oil-lubricating systems with „low-oil-pressure" safety switch. The machine exterior is of stainless steel and easily accessible. Hinged doors with patented security locks provide safety and enhance serviceability. The HST Homogeniser pump-block Made of a one-piece precision-machined special alloy forging, this block can be suited to process a wide variety of product ranging from liquids to highly viscous materials, all with their own degree of abrasiveness. Pump-valves are of the poppet type or ball type, depending on product. Valve seats are metal-to-metal shrunk in the cylinder block, avoiding unneccesary seals or gaskets, facilitating cleaning. Pump -valve seats are available in various materials, suitable to handle the most difficult products. Each block can be supplied, or retro fitted, in aseptic execution as well. Fro nt- and uppercaps are at ergonomic height for easy access and serviceability. All designs have a minimum of crevices and dead-ends, and are fully CIP-able. The production machines are supplied with a pressure system Of 4-20 mA output, including pressure relief. The HST Homogenising Valve The heart of the homogenizer ist the homogenizing valve. This valve is fitted at the high pressure outlet of the cylinder block and creates the necessary homogenizing pressure. Pressure adjustment is either manual (handwh eel-controlled) or hydraulicai (HVA = Hydraulic Valve Actuation). The valve configuration is dictated by the homogenizer capacity and product characteristics. HST have chosen a specific valve design, highly efficient, service -friendly and of low noise. Valve parts can be supplied in Stellite, Tungsten Carbide or Ceramics. Depending on application, singleor two-stage homogenization will be available.
