About Eurasia Group The Coca-Cola Company’s Eurasia Group (EAG) encompasses a total of 43 countries, spanning from Eastern Europe and Russia in the North, to the Middle East and India in the South. The Group covers the largest territory within The Coca-Cola System, with a total population of about 2.1 billion people and approximately one third of the world’s youth. Formed in 2007, the Eurasia Group is also the fastest growing operating group within the Company. Operating revenue in the first half of 2007 was $571 million USD, up 20% on the previous year. Operating income during the same time was $249 million, up 31% on the previous year. The countries comprising the EAG are diverse, both economically and culturally. Most of the emerging economies are experiencing rapid growth. The EAG territory supplies much of the world with oil and gas, and with India, Pakistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Romania, is a leading destination for manufacturing and service industries. The GDP per capita in the EAG varies from country to country, ranging from a high of $49,700 in the UAE to a low of $800 in Afghanistan. Like its dynamic geography, Coca-Cola’s history in the EAG is rich and varied. In some countries, Coca-Cola has been present since the first half of the 20th century, while in others –notably the former Soviet Union – Coca-Cola only entered in the early 1990’s. In the Middle East, Coca-Cola returned in 1992 after an absence of more than 25 years. Similarly in India, The Coca-Cola Company was absent for 16 years until 1993. Most 1 recently, in 2006, a brand new plant was inaugurated in Kabul, Afghanistan, making Coca-Cola the first multinational company to set up a factory there. Coca-Cola EAG offers consumers more than 81 different brands, including sparkling drinks, juice and fruit drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, water and ready to drink teas and coffees. The many brands we offer come in a variety of different flavors to cater to all consumers. Approximately 600 employees work for The Coca-Cola Company in the Eurasia Group, a number which rises to more than 20,000 when all bottling partner employees are included. Coca-Cola EAG has 165 bottling plants throughout the Group, the majority of which are Franchise Bottling Operations (FBO). The two largest bottling partners are Coca-Cola HBC and Coca-Cola Icecek, listed on the Athens and Istanbul stock exchanges respectively.
