Faculty Learning Communities: This session will demonstrate the process and experiences of faculty members who have engaged in a Faculty Learning Community (FLC) focused on Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The FLC process involves a structured, interdisciplinary focus group that meets over the course of an academic year, making fundamental course changes according to the principles of UDL. This presentation will include sharing from FLC participants as to their efforts with UDL and increased learning by their students. We receive an imprint in our memory when we hear another person’s story. During this session we will explore ways to use these videos to help faculty gain awareness of classroom access issues. IMAT - Instructional Materials Access ToolKit: Participants will view the Instructional Materials ToolKit (IMAT), a Webbased service that allows instructors on all CSU campuses to utilize a fully accessible, passwordprotected online application that runs a course survey, calculates the results, and provides comprehensive training to help make course materials accessible. This fullfeatured system offers data tracking of the IMAT survey, creates customized self-paced training modules that cover many broad topics and is easily refreshed and updated. The end result is training that is comprehensive and scalable.
