EXPERIENCE
Freelance (UK)
March 2010 – Current

Since March 2010 worked as Creative Director, for Livemusic.fm & the related enterprise
Live&Loud.com as a freelance consultant.
Livemusic.fm was founded by music industry heavy-weights with a goal to promote new &
exciting artists through the medium of live music. In essence the venture has centred around
a live music based community and an e-commerce gig ticketing service. As such the
requirement has extended far beyond the remit of a traditional creative director and embraced
elements of digital and offline strategy, marketing, audience research and the live music
events themselves. In addition this has involved working very closely with the technical
delivery team and motivating and mentoring the wider, and varied team members.
In summary my role has involved the following:









Avis Europe – “Greener World” Corporate Social Responsibility Website
Additionally, oversaw the design and creative output on some smaller tech-based clients such
as Viatel (an independent networks provider) – the latter involved extensive print-work and
direct marketing campaigns as well as online properties. The role was both “hands on”
design as well as managerial and involved leading a team of 5 people including three
designers and two IAs – as well as the usual compliment of freelance motion graphics editors,
flash developers and copy-writers.

BBC Broadcast (now Red Bee Media)
July 2001 – March 2004
Creative Director, New Media Promotions
My two key responsibilities as Creative Director at the BBC were the delivery of first class,
innovative digital promotions and the long-term creative and strategic development of the
New Media department within BBC Broadcast; and to extend the reach of promotions into
new areas such as mobile and interactive TV. The Creative Director was responsible for the
£800K budget of the New Media team, as well as having direct line management
responsibilities for a team of around ten people.
Whilst at BBC Broadcast, I worked on a wide variety of digital campaigns promoting BBC
interactive content (BBCi), BBC Radio & TV programs and services (including promoting the
launch of the BBC Three & BBC Four digital TV channels and BBC6 Music Digital Radio), as
