The SD SIG links into the RIKCo (Research, Information & Knowledge Committee), where the chair sits on the BIFM Board. Issues / funding are to be channelled through this route for resolution Each SIG is to provide a framework document that will take activity forward for funding. SS discussed with IF that we are having difficulty with recognition. 3 4 DEADLINE Comment Quarterly each SIG to provide a short progress report. SS will email out if requested. August 04 Following discussion, each SIG to have individual membership for 3 years. GL stated the ordinary member will have difficulty sending a qualified member all the time. LB supported this but also qualified that a Company sending different members each time would also affect continuity. Comment BDP.co.uk – an interesting web site Comment Sustainability Forum update Minutes distributed the following noted: Edge group possible event – SS to send out details Comments/ info required for next meeting on Training & skills group matrix – SS to distribute Code of waste Management launch – specific to construction Industry. GL asked where “social aspects” of sustainability featured within the Forum – SS confirmed that the training & communications have it within their sites. FM Sustainability Framework GL/SS/TB/John Savill met up at BDP offices & prepared the framework- emailed out to all. The goal is that this provides the front page to the web site. The next stage is to populate the information in bullet format with links to other documents for further reading - Revenue – assisted by LB/JU*** (Carrillion) - Capital – Assisted by JU*** (Carrillion) Send info to SS who will then distribute Aim to achieve 3 funded packages ACTION SS SS SS/All GL TB SS 1. 2. 3. 4. Outcome is a link with the Sustainability Forum & it will provide a framework for training The framework was discussed: FM Liaison Point – people we should be talking to Tendering – Identifies a particular procurement route Capital- may not necessarily be new build Manage – Operate? may breakdown further at a later stage PFI – maybe too specific Leased – better definition? E.g. Investment FM role/Project – Identify skills gap Owned – owner/ occupier also full repair lease AI asked if there was a cross with Susie Edwards BRE work – BRE work to act as a tool within this one. JU queried if there are known statistics of how many FM’s are involved & at what stage. GL explained only probably 5% operate full spectrum. SS to investigate, or see if info could be captured within next FM survey 5 AOB Workshop was held on 11th February – next one September, possible venue – Swiss –Re, Or a West Midlands venue –DR to investigate SS DR LB to speak at Procurement solutions at Earls Court on Sustainable Development. Copy of presentation to be provided LB Quadrilect have a revised training program, within the competencies – sustainability has a 45 min slot in the foundation course. Draft session to be provided for review. SS Jackie from GSK noted that within the “ Green built environment” FM was seen as a bolt on – SS commented that this showed the level to push at.
