The 7th Southern Intercollegiate Scientific Conference
On December the 19th, the Electronics, Information and Communication Association of Ho Chi Minh
City, in collaboration with DTU, held the 7th Southern Intercollegiate Scientific Conference entitled
“Electronics-Communication-Information Technology” at the DTU representative office in Ho Chi Minh
City. Attendees included Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Electronics Information and
Communication Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Professor. Huynh Huu Tue, Chief editor of
Electronics, Information and Communication Magazine, leaders of educational institutions in the South
and researchers in the field.

The annual Southern Intercollegiate Scientific Conference is a forum for researchers in the region to
exchange experience, look for collaboration opportunities and apply research results to real life.
Speaking at the event, Professor Huynh Huu Tue highly appreciated the sustained efforts of the
universities and colleges in the South for having organized the conference for researchers in the region.
He also praised DTU’s contributions to the development of the Electronics, Information and
Communication Association of Ho Chi Minh City over the years.
Five papers to be presented at the seminar were about hot issues in the fields of Electronics,
Communication and Information Technology, namely “DFT: A link between signal processing and linear
algebra codes” by Professor Huynh Huu Tue, “Recent advances in full-wave propagation and scattering
modeling” by Dr. Trinh Xuan Dung from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, “Scientific
Research and Business Start-up” by Mr. Lam Chi Thuong (Center for Career Promotion) and so on.

Mr. Lam Chi Thuong speaks at the Conference
Information Technology and Electrical Engineering are strategic disciplines DTU has attached special
importance to for investment. The quantity and quality of students studying and researching in these two
majors are increasing. Furthermore, to enhance the quality of education, DTU has collaborated with
Carnegie Mellon (CMU), the best university for Information Technology in America, and with Singapore
Polytechnic, the first technology university in Singapore, to transfer internationally-standarded curricula.
Successfully co-hosting this conference, DTU has contributed to the educational development in the areas
of Electronics, Communication and Information & Technology and has made a partnership link between
researchers and businessmen to apply more scientific research to real life.
