Take Our Kids To Work (TOKW)
Save the Date. Last year, this could be initiated by Career Development
Teachers on a voluntary basis for Grade 9 division students. Details
along with appropriate Sun West forms will be circulating in the near
future. Mark the date now and ask if any questions. This is a wonderful

What is Engineering?
This information session will allow students to consider options in the
field of Engineering. Practicing professionals and university
professionals will be on hand to answer questions. (Nov 8th in
Saskatoon, November 9th in Regina)
November 15, Nov 15th: Great Plains College Spend-A-Day Electrician Session for
Grade 11’s and 12’s at Biggar Program Centre. Pre-register by
16th and 24th
November 10th.
Nov 16th: Great Plains College Spend-A-Day Carpentry Session for
Grade 11’s and 12’s at Outlook Program Centre. Pre-register by
November 10th.
Nov 24th: Great Plains College Spend-A-Day for various programs at
Swift Current Campus. Pre-register by November 17th. There will be
sessions about application processes, student loans, and scholarships for
interested students and parents.

Apprenticeship A20, B20, A30, B30 – Sun West School Division offers
Apprenticeship Credits. If a student already has a paid job working in a
designated trade under the DIRECT supervision of a certified journeyperson,
he/she may qualify for school credit. Call Vanessa if more information is needed.

Take Our Kids To Work – was a huge success again this year. Thank you to all
Career Development Teachers who assisted in coordinating this day for students.
Remember, the reflective process is very important, so please help your students
engage in some post-TOKW day activities.
WorkSafe Saskatchewan invites Grade 9-12 students to create 3 minute
videos with a Work2Live message. First prize is $1000.
