NCAA - a reminder to student athletes – If you are a potential
candidate for a Division I or II college sport, you need
to register at www.eligibilitycenter.org Your eligibility is
your responsibility. Communicate with your coaches and see
your counselor to pick up a worksheet to make sure you have
taken the proper course work to be eligible.

allowing the Counseling Center 3-5 days to process all

SENIORS PLEASE NOTE: Many colleges offer Merit-Based or
Academic-Based Scholarships to students applying. There
are so many that we will not be advertising them here, but
the information will be in the college’s folder in our file.
Always ask the college if there are any scholarships which
may apply to you and how do you get that information.
AFSCME FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM- for high school
seniors whose parent/legal guardian is current AFSCME
member. Completed applications are due by 12/31. Pick
up your application in the Counseling Center today.
ASSOCIATION OF FIRE DISTRICTS OF THE STATE OF NEW
YORK, INC. - $1500 award to a graduating senior
related to or who is a firefighter in NYS. Application in
Counseling Center and is due by 3/1.
AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIPSDepartment Scholarship, Department District Scholarship,
Raymond T. Wellington, Jr. Memorial Scholarship, Mary
Ann K. Murtha Memorial Scholarship, The Helen Klimek
Student Scholarship, Past President’s Parley Scholarship,
The Cerullo Memorial Scholarship(Son’s of the American
Legion), Children of Warriors National Presidents’
Scholarship, Spirit of Youth Jr. Member Scholarship and
the Non-Traditional Student Scholarship. Scholarships are
all due by 2/28 to the Counseling Center. Application info
in the C.C. Come check out the criteria for each of 10
different scholarships as each one varies.
AUGUST MAUER AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
SCHOLARSHIP –Local unit awarding $500 to a NHS
graduate to create awareness in our students that the
ability to communicate thoughts and ideas is basic in our
chances of surviving as a civilization. Application in the
C.C. and is due 4/11.
DAR SCHOLARSHIPS- Several scholarships being offered with
information on the (Daughters of the American Revolution)
DAR Public Web-site and are due 1/15. Topics included
are history, law, nursing and education.
ELKS- Special Sr. Scholarship Opportunity- if your father was a
member of the Elks at the time of his death or is totally
disabled please contact John Oakes @331-1249.
ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP- for
seniors who are relatives of an Elks member. Apply online
@ www.elks.org/enf/scholars by 1/31/14.
GE-REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMawarding roughly 20 college-bound students who
demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and
citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships up to
$40,000 per recipient. More information @

counselor/principal nomination by 12/20/13. All
applications must be completed by 1/9/14.
HERFF JONES BELIEVE IN YOU SCHOLARSHIP &
PRINCIPAL’S AWARD – seniors complete a nomination
request on line @ https://aim.applyists.net/HerffJones, by
2/8/14. Our administrators will certify your request via
information you provide on your application as we may
submit only one candidate to win the opportunity to receive
$2,000-$12,000 in awards. Criteria to be considered
include leadership, academic performance and community
service.
HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT- for seniors of
Hispanic origin with good academic achievement.
Applications that are in the C.C. are due 3/7.
ITHACA COLLEGE - Park Scholar Award given for excellence in
academics, commitment to service and passion for
communications. Due date for scholarship application is
1/15, forms in the C.C. Your Ithaca College Entrance
Application must be received by 1/2.
ITHACA COLLEGE Martin Luther King Jr. Scholar Program is
offered to academically exceptional students from
traditionally underrepresented populations who have
strong character and leadership through service and
community involvement with rewards from $25,000 to full

KEUKA COLLEGE COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARDeach month, from September to January $17,000 is
awarded to a high school senior who has an unwavering
commitment to community service. Learn more

LATINO COLLEGE DOLLARS - free online scholarship guide for
Latino students @ www.LatinoCollegeDollars.org.
MARY PUTNAM RECRUITMENT GRANT- $1000 awarded to a
high school senior pursuing college study leading to a
career in education. Application in C.C. and is due back
to the Counseling Center by 2/15.
MONROE COMMUNITY COLLEGE MERIT SCHOLARSHIPSoffering MCC Presidential Scholarships for high GPA,
SAT and ACT Scores and the MCC Scholars Program for
those demonstrating achievement in extracurricular and/or
community activities. Due 3/1. Applications in the C.C.
NATIONAL CO-OP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – will award 160
scholarships totaling almost $4.1million to seniors
applying to one of the following institutions: Clarkson
University, Drexel University, Johnson & Wales
University, SUNY Oswego, RIT, University of Cincinnati,
University of Massachusetts Lowell, University of Toledo
and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Criteria &
application is online www.waceinc.org and is due by 2/14.
NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY’S
SCHOLARSHIP- awarding $1,000-$3,000 to highly
qualified students with MS or who have a parent with MS
and will be attending college. Selection based on
academic performance, leadership and participation in
school or community activities, compelling personal or
family circumstances, and financial need. Apply by midJanuary @ www.msupstateny.org.
NEW YORK WATER ENVIRONMENT ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP- Offering several scholarships due
2/10/14 to children of NYWEA members, or to students
enrolled in a college where there is a NYWEA student
chapter, or to students who will be enrolled in an
environmentally related program in a 4 year college.

NEWARK GRANGE #366 SCHOLARSHIP- a scholarship
presented to a graduating NHS student who follows their
mission of enhancing community life, family values,
patriotism, belief in God, and advancing agriculture.
Applications and further criteria available in the C.C. and
is due by 4/15.
NEWARK TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP- for a
NHS graduate pursuing a career in EDUCATION.
Applications are available in the C.C. and are due March
28. The candidates will be interviewed. Please make sure,
when you drop off your completed paperwork that you also
sign up for a time slot for your interview.
ORAL ROBERTS UNIVERSITY - request a counselor/principal
nomination if you qualify as committed to achieving
excellence academically, physically and spiritually for an
award ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 per year at their

POLISH HERITAGE SOCIETY OF ROCHESTER
SCHOLARSHIP- $4,000 award for up to 10 qualifying
graduating students of Polish descent living in Ontario or
Wayne Counties. Application available @

SHARON ALL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP- requires 90+GPA
and outstanding volunteering in the community. Keep

supervisors. Currently valued at $1000. Due 4/1.
SHEER EGO INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL – offering scholarships
of $800-$1000 for their cosmetology program. Forms are
in the C.C. This is an ongoing opportunity, check it out.
ST. JOHN FISHER COLLEGE SERVICE/FIRST GENERATION
SCHOLARSHIPS - rewards students applying to their
college for commitment to community service and designed
to provide financial academic assistance to first generation
to attend college. Apply on line @

be awarded to two African American graduating high

scholarships for employees/families and non-employees
with varying criteria and due dates. Check it out at the
