“Macbeth” Vocabulary
1. feverous (adj) – excited, restless, focused on something

2. equivocate (v) – to speak vaguely or ambiguously, especially in order to mislead;
being deliberately ambiguous or unclear

3. tyrant (n) – an absolute ruler who exercises power cruelly and unjustly
 M: goes on a rant;
4. unsanctified (adj) – unholy; impure; defiled; unclean
 M: unsaintly; not holy or saintly
5. knell (n) – slow, deep sound of a bell; knell (v) – deeply ring
 M: knell – bell – yell – onomatopoeia (sounds like what it means)
6. vantage (n) – a place or situation affording advantage

7. harbinger (n) – person/thing that goes ahead and makes something known; shows
 M: har-bringer (someone who brings news ahead)
