Prince William County Disability Services Board MEET OUR MEMBERS Barbara Diehl, At-Large Representative 2034 Greatbridge Road, Woodbridge VA 22192 Barbara Diehl has served on the Disability Services Board since February 2000. She is the Director of the Woodbridge Senior Center. Barbara’s areas of interest are Assistive Technology, Universal Design, Aging and Advocacy for all disability issues that effect those in our community. Paul has been involved with the disability community for over twenty-five years. He is or has been involved with Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc and Special Olympics. Paul has run a bowling league for individuals with disabilities for the last fourteen years. Paul is a member of the Arc Board of Directors. Gainesville, Alternate Karen Smith, Potomac District, Chairperson 13505 Hillendale Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22193 703-670-4800 Karen has served on the Disability Services Board since 1988. She is the Executive Director of The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc. She serves as a board member for ACTS, the Housing Advisory Committee and Prince William Human Services Coalition. Karen is the current Chairperson of the Disability Services Board. Melvin Padgett II, Gainesville District 9651 Lawrence Kirk Place, Bristow, VA 20136 Mel is both a visually impaired and hearing impaired person who has served on the Prince William County Disability Services Board since June, 2001. He is a commercial loan specialist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and brings a wealth of knowledge both from a financial perspective as well as Universal Design of both home and public buildings. He also has a wealth of knowledge concerning technical equipment to assist the employment of those with disabilities. No Picture Available Michael Bizik, Occoquan District 12742 Dulcinea Place, Woodbridge, VA Michael Bizik became a resident of Woodbridge in 1968. Michael testified before Congress on several occasions regarding child support and at the request of US Senators helped their constituents collect and enforce US court ordered child support overseas. After two knee surgeries in 2007 and being dependent upon a walking cane, Michael would like to help Prince William County address and facilitate the needs of citizens with disabilities. No Picture Available Janice Bouie, Woodbridge District 3710 Stonewall Manor Drive, Triangle, VA Janice A. Buie is program manager for child protection mediation at D.C. Superior Court. She has over 10 years of alternative dispute resolution program administration and volunteer management experience. Janice specializes in mediation program development for diverse populations. Janice currently volunteers as an External Reviewer of Consumer Grievance, Department of Mental Health for the District of Columbia. She also serves on the Board of Professional Responsibility for the D.C. Court. Nona Bond, Business Representative 8072 Counselor Road, Manassas, VA 20112-4752 Nona was appointed to the Disability Services Board in May of 2000. She has been a realtor for several years and a proponent of Universal Design. Nona is also a licensed Speech Pathologist. Her office is dedicated to the eliminate discrimination through civil and human rights law enforcement and to establish equal opportunity for all persons within the county through advocacy and education. No Picture Available Reina Graham, Alternate Coles District 13033 Chaddsford Terrace, Manassas, VA 20112 Reina Graham has a B.S in Human Services Counseling from Old Dominion University; an M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from Gallaudet University; and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision (with a Psychiatric Rehabilitative Track) from the University of Maryland at College Park. Michael spent 14 years in Health Care Facilities Management with companies like Marriott International and Aramark Management Services. Michael has been employed by Stuart Dean Company, a well-known architectural refinishing company, for five years. Originally from NC, Michael has lives in Prince William County (Woodbridge) for seven years with his wife Karen and their three children; he has served on various boards for Supervisor Caddigan over the last three years. Michael has been very active in the community coaching in youth baseball (DTQ) and football leagues (NVYAA-also serving as Vice President on executive for last two years. Brentsville, Alternate Gainesville, Alternate Woodbridge, Alternate Linda Moore, Clerk to the Board Sudley North Government Center 7987 Ashton Avenue, Suite 200, Manassas, VA 20109 The Committee for Persons with Disabilities, serving as the Prince William County Disability Services Board acts as an advisory group to the Board of County Supervisors on disability issues. The Committee’s primary purpose is to recommend ways and means by which the county may be more responsive to the needs of citizens with physical and/or sensory disabilities.
