otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) for both diagnostic and rehabilitative purposes. Testing was performed
in outpatient and inpatient settings.
 Conducted cochlear implant evaluations to determine candidacy for implantation. Completed initial
activations, follow-up programming, performance testing, and troubleshooting for Advanced Bionics,
Cochlear and Med-El devices.
 Provided hearing aid consultations, selections, fittings using speech mapping, counseling, follow up
troubleshooting and programming adjustments for patients of varying ages and level of need. Also
counseled patients regarding assistive listening devices including FM system technology.
 Evaluated patients via electrophysiological measures including auditory brainstem response (ABR)
testing as well as vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) testing.
 Proficient in Universal Hearing Screening protocols as well as with testing newborn children via
screening and threshold ABR tests.
 Performed hearing and facial nerve intraoperative monitoring for the Department of Neurosurgery at
Massachusetts General Hospital.
 Provided supervision and guidance to 4th year doctoral externs. Duties included offering assistance
with clinical decision making, report writing and professional development.
 Composed appropriate clinical reports and completed necessary paperwork regarding patient contact
appointments.

follow-up screenings using automated auditory brainstem response (AABR) testing as well as transient
evoked otoacoustic emission (TEOAE) testing.
 Provided hearing aid consultations, selection, fittings using speech mapping, programming, counseling
on daily care and maintenance, follow up troubleshooting and adjustments for patients of varying ages

and level of need. Also counseled patients regarding assistive listening devices, with emphasis on the
Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) for the state of Texas.
Competent in the policy and procedures for acquiring amplification through the Medicaid program,
Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) and Program for Amplification for the
Children of Texas (PACT).
Evaluated the vestibular function of pediatric, adult and geriatric patients using rotary chair (RC)
testing, videonystagmography (VNG), and electronystagmography (ENG).
Assisted the UTMB Cleft Palate Team with audiological support as well as became a contact resource
for the UTMB Center for Audiology and Speech Pathology to the team.
Acted as a public relations liaison promoting speech-language and hearing healthcare via community

within the department.
