Dr. Melissa Cardon is a Professor of Management in the Lubin School of Business at Pace University, and Director of the Business Honors Program. Dr. Cardon has professional experience in Human Resources and a PhD from Columbia University’s School of Business. She has been at Pace since 2005 and is involved on campus in organizations such as Colleges Against Cancer, Relay for Life, the Setter’s Leadership Program, and Pforzheimer Honors College. Dr. Cardon conducts research on unleashing human potential within entrepreneurial firms, including a dual interest in HR practices that maximize employee potential, and the emotional, relational, and cognitive aspects of entrepreneurs that contribute to optimizing their behavior and performance. Her work has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management, Human Resource Management Review, and Human Resource Management. She is on the Editorial Board of Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, and Human Resource Management Review. Recently Dr. Cardon’s research has focused on entrepreneurial passion and how entrepreneurs as individuals and within teams can unleash their passion to get the best results for themselves and their organizations. Dr. Cardon works with students in the same way, helping them to discover and unleash their passion so they can get the most out of their college experience and prepare themselves for future careers and lives where they will thrive.
