Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC)
Immediate Scholarship Reservation (ISR)
(Information Summary)
1. Selected applicants receive:
 Full tuition and other financial benefits worth up to $180,000. NROTC Units are located at
over 165 of the nation’s leading colleges and universities.
 $250-$400 a month tax-free spending money.

2. Basic eligibility requirements. Other requirements not listed. See Recruiter.
 Be a U.S. Citizen
 Must be in top 20% of class
 Must be within Navy height weight standards
 Must not have any previous drug/alcohol involvement
 Be at least 17 years of age and not older than 23 by December 31st of the year you start college
 Complete high school/equivalent certificate
 Take the ACT or SAT test prior to deadline and receive at least the minimum scores listed below:
ACT
SAT
Math = 26
Math = 600
English = 22
Critical Reading = 530
Must have combined sum of Math and Critical Reading score of 1230 on SAT and 54 on ACT.
3. Not available for Nurse Option.
4. Degree requirements:
 Major in any field
 Take normal course load required for degree
 Enroll in two Naval Science Courses per year
 Complete the following courses: Calculus, Physics, World Cultures and Regional Studies (1 term),
National Security Policy/U.S. Military Affairs, English Grammar and Composition
5. Military Service requirements:
 No obligation for first year of college
 Upon completion of degree, receive commission as Ensign in the Navy Reserve
 Five year active duty obligation
