Student Learning Objectives
1.
Students will analyze text with an emphasis on the role of the plot,
characters, setting, point of view, theme, diction, conflicts,
symbols, and syntax.
2.
Students will evaluate all texts for the presentation of women, men,
Biblical allusions, and role of history.
3.
Students will complete critical analysis essays using appropriate
style, content, structure and language use.

Project
The final project is worth 200 points. This is a character analysis paper.
Each student will pick one character, from any of the works studied during this
semester, and analyze it in relation to three area; the role in the text, the relationship to
other characters and the relationship to issues and ideas in the text. This should be ten
pages with four sources. This paper should include parenthetical citations using MLA
with 12 font size and double spaced.
