go to summer camp and visit other units.

building up to this.

Both Army and Air Cadet ranks have chevrons, like the Sea Cadets, but have
crowns and maple leafs instead of anchors

Army Cadet ranks:
1. Cadet – no insignia
2. Private – 1 chevron (gold)
3. Corporal – 2 chevrons
4. Master Corporal – 2 chevrons & maple leaf
5. Sergeant – 3 chevrons & maple leaf
6. Warrant Officer – crown
7. Master Warrant Officer – crown with wreath
8. Chief Warrant Officer – Canadian coat of arms
Preparation:
Underneath all the

Air Cadet ranks:
1. Air Cadet – no insignia

Twister rank game. The objective is to familiarize students with Army and Air
rank structures.

No horseplay is allowed. No shoes, please take them off.
Body
Set-up:
1. Print out 28 images of Army and Air Cadet rank insignia (IG Annex I)
2. Paste each images of rank insignia onto cardboard paper backdrop
3. Arrange the rank insignia sheets in a 4 x 7 rectangle on the floor,
securing it with tape, face-up
4. Make slips of paper that contain the name of Army and Air Cadet ranks,
and place them in a container
5. Make slips of paper that contain the words “left hand”, “right hand”, “left
foot”, “right foot”, and place in separate container
Preparation: Have the
rectangle set-up before
class starts
Game rules:
 No shoes
 Students will be divided into groups of ~ 3
 Each group will have 5 minutes to play
 A “rank name” slip “body part” slip are picked each turn, and everyone
must try to touch the corresponding rank insignia with that body part
 As one group plays, the other group acts as judges
 If anyone falls, touches the outside boundaries, or touches the wrong
rank insignia, they are out and must leave the rectangle
Instructions:
1. Have students remove shoes
2. Divide students into groups of three
3. All members of the group move to surround the rectangle
4. Pick out a slip that has the name of the rank, and a slip that has the
name of the body part
5. Read both slips aloud
6. Students carry out the action
7. Repeat
