Jan 21 – Cindy took my car to Ft. Collins. We fixed Angie’s birthday picture. She went to
spend the day with Gladys.
Jan 22 – Cindy went back to register. We put the latch on the storm door at 3805 Third

worked on the TV. I taped Centennial.

put ins. on the Buick.

Mar 2 – 6” of snow this morning. Snowed all day.

Mar 4 – Angie came up & we got the cat out of the cistern. She spent the night.
Mar 5 – We all worked at fixing a place for the dog pen. Angie went home.

Mar 8 – We went to Ault & took in income tax papers. Angie & Rick came out to dig

Mar 10 – It was blizzardy all day. We started to Ft. Collins & came back.
Mar 11 – Awful cold wind & blowing snow. I finished the star quilt & took it out of the
frame. Gladys went to Colo. Springs.
Mar 12 – Cold. Snowed hard in the eve. We went to Ft. Collins in the a.m.
Sunday, Mar 13 – Cold & clear. Gladys & Charley were here for dinner. She gave me a
perm.
Mar 14 – Pretty nice day. We went to H & R Block and pd the taxes.
Mar 15 – Angie & Cindy were here all day. We played canasta. I gave Cindy stuff to
make a baby quilt. Turned awful cold.

Mar 17 – I went to Boston. Got there at 6:30.

Apr 5 – I took the taxi to the airport – got into Denver at 3:10. Gladys brot me home.
Apr 6 – I washed & mopped. We built a goose pen. Doyle plowed the garden.
Apr 7 – Beautiful day. I washed & turtle waxed my Buick.
Apr 8 – I ironed. It snowed hard. Barry was here.
Apr 9 – Cold. I cleaned house. It snowed hard.
Sunday, Apr 10 – We went down to Bobby’s, back by Gladys’.
Apr 11 – I planted sweet corn in the garden. I helped Doyle loosen a pickup box. Cleaned
yard.
Apr 12 – I cut out Gladys’ jacket. Sewed on it some.
Apr 13 – I sewed on Gladys’ jacket. She left for D. C. Cindy came up & we made a baby
quilt for Missie.
Apr 14 – Cindy left. We kept the dogs. We went to town. Doyle got a blood test. I
finished Gladys’ jacket.
Apr 15 – We went to the Auction.
Apr 16 – I worked on the star quilt.
Sunday, Apr 17 – Cool & rainy. We went to LaPorte. Gladys got home. I fixed chocolate
popcorn for the bunch.
Apr 18 – Nice day. I washed. Gladys & Charley were here for dinner. We went to
Wellington. Planted onions, carrots & turnips.

Apr 25 – Doyle overhauled the toilet. Found a pr of sunglasses inside. I went to Harmony
Rd & got a Quasar TV.

tomato plants.
May 12 – We went to get Doyle’s blood test. I worked on Bobby’s shirt.

May 14 – I took Bobby his shirt. Pam & I went to Doug’s graduation party. Hot.

Jun 22 – Hot. I washed. Elah H. was here. Doyle went to Barry’s to deliver June’s
message. We towed Ward’s trailer home.
Jun 23 – We loaded a pickup load at Toni’s. I took Bobby his yellow shirt. We drug
Toni’s VW home.
Jun 24 – Hot. We loaded a truck & pickup at Toni’s.
Jun 25 – Gladys & Charley were here for dinner. It rained hard – an inch.
Sunday, Jun 26 – Cooler. Gladys & Charley were here. They moved their trailer.
Jun 27 – Charley & the kids were here. We hauled a pickup load from Toni’s. Doyle
went to Lodge.
Jun 28 – Hot. We hauled a truck load & a pickup load from Toni’s. Ben Rice brot a car
out for Gladys to see.
Jun 29 – The kids spent the nite. We took Toni’s pickup home. Kids went with us.
Jun 30 – Charley & I went to Ft. C. Met Willie & his wife. We all went shopping. They
killed a snake in the chicken house.
Jul 1 – Real cool. We went to town. Doyle got a haircut. Charley & Gladys brot up a
VCR tape and a pizza.
Jul 2 – Hot. I went in & picked cherries off of Presley’s tree. They came up for dinner.
Gladys sold her car & got another one.

plans.
Jul 18 – Cindy & I painted the ceiling in the front rooms. We went to Wellington. G & C
were here for dinner. They bought Gladys’ ring.
Jul 19 – Cindy & I went to Ft. Collins. I took my sewing machine in to be fixed. I started
putting things back.
Jul 20 – I washed. Cindy hung out clothes. We went in and got my sewing machine.
Jul 21 – I cut Jeanette’s hair. Cindy went home.

Jul 23 – I kept the Kelly kids in the afternoon.

cleaning up.

Aug 4 – Cool. I cleaned the bathroom. Gene Smith was here.
Aug 5 – We went to town. We went to the Auction. I got some more blue dishes.

Aug 8 – Charley & the kids got back from N. Y. The kids were here for dinner.
Aug 9 – Charley & the kids came up. The kids stayed for dinner. I mopped & waxed the
kitchen.
Aug 10 – Hot. We went to Ft. Collins. Took the kids with us. Got groceries & medicine.
Aug 11 – Mary & David & Faye got here at noon.
Aug 12 – Mary & I went shopping. David & Faye went to the mts.
Aug 13 – I made donuts. We went down to Kelly’s party. Had a good time.
Sunday, Aug 14 – We had a family gathering here. Harold & Shirley came. Marian &
Shirley came.
Aug 15 – Cindy & Angie came over. Mary, Faye & David left about 2. Kenneth & I &
the girls went shopping. Got a bird feeder & a kitchen light. Kenneth installed it.
Aug 16 – I worked in the garden. Kenneth & I went to Sears & orderd a shower outfit.
Kenneth went in to see Eyestone.
Aug 17 – Kenneth & I went over to Greeley to see Sarah. Had a visit with Dean and
Mary too. I watered. Kenneth went to see Sharon P. John Smith called to say they would
be up.
Aug 18 – I baked 2 pies. Opal came down. I gave her a pie.
Aug 19 – Gladys & Charley got back from Wyoming. Angie got scalded with her car.
Aug 20 – John & Carolyn came for dinner. Gladys & Charley came for lunch. We had a
good visit.
Sunday, Aug 21 – All the crew was here for dinner. Kenneth had supper with Gladys.
Aug 22 – Cindy, Les’ ann. Kenneth left at 9:30. I done a huge washing.
Aug 23 – We went to Ft. Collins. I had to drive. Doyle lost his driver’s license.
Aug 24 – I went down to Imogene’s. We went to Furr’s to a PNG dinner, then on out to
Verna Rae’s to visit. Nita M. was there.
Aug 25 – I worked on Bobby’s shirt.
Aug 26 – I sewed on Bobby’s shirt. We went to the Auction. I got 2 boxes of thread. I
went to Wellington to get buttons.
Aug 27 – I took my quilts in to the quilt show. Cindy brot me grapes & elderberries. I
fixed the elderberries. I finished Bobby’s shirt.
Sunday, Aug 28 – Bobby’s birth. Cool. Bobby & Pam & Pat came for dinner. We went to
their place.
Aug 29 – I made 47 pts of grape & elderberry jam. I went in and got sugar & sure jell.
Went by Loreen’s & picked up my quilts. We drug a Case Tractor home.
Aug 30 – I sewed on Les’ blue shirt.
Aug 31 – I sewed on Les’ shirt. Had trouble with the buttonholer.
Sep 1 – Charley got here. He stayed for dinner. We went to Co-op for spray. I finished
Les’ shirt. We went to Co-Op for weed spray.
Sep 2 – I cut out a shirt for David R. for Xmas. We went in & Doyle got a blood test. We
went to the Auction. We got 50# of potatoes.
Sep 3 – I made 3 batches of jam. We went over and drug an old wagon home.
Sunday, Sep 4 – We went to LaPorte. No flea mkt. Gladys & Charley came for dinner.
Sep 5 – Mary’s birthday. I washed. Sewed on David’s Xmas shirt.
Sep 6 – We went in to Ft. Collins. I went to the dentist. Had a tooth filled and teeth
cleaned. Sewed on David’s shirt.
Sep 7 – Windy. I finished the shirt. Cindy came out & spent the night.
Sep 8 – I went up to Opal’s. We put a maple leaf quilt in the frame.
Sep 9 – Cindy brot her dog out. I went to see Dr. Yemm. He checked my hearing &
balance. I quilted.
Sep 10 – I went into Presley’s & picked up peaches. I quilted. Side of my tooth came off.
Sunday, Sep 11 – Gladys & Charley were here. I gave her a perm. My neuralgia gave me
fits all nite.
Sep 12 – I was sick all day with neuralgia. I called the dentist.
Sep 13 – Some better but still on percodan.
Sep 14 – We went in to the Drs. Office & picked up my prescription for “percodan”. I
quilted.
Sep 15 – I went to the dentist & had a tooth rebuilt ($42.00). I quilted.
Sep 16 – I quilted.
Sep 17 – I quilted.
Sunday, Sep 18 – We had my 70th birthday dinner down at Gladys’. Cindy brot me a box
of concord grapes. The wind blew horrible.
Sep 19 – I canned 9 qt. of grapce juice and made 3 batches of elderberry & grape jam.
Sep 20 – First frost. I finished quilting Gladys’ quilt. Took it out of the frames. Barry &
Jim were here.
Sep 21 – I put edges on 2 sides of the quilt.
Sep 22 – Nice day. I put edge on the quilt. We went to Co-op.
Sep 23 – Nice day. I finished the maple leaf quilt. We went to the Auction and hit a steer
on the way home.
Sep 24 – Nice day. Toni was here.
Sunday, Sep 25 – I went in to Gladys’ & got papers. We watched the presidential
debates.
Sep 26 – Liz brought me back from the mailbox. We went down to the patrol office to
report our accident.
Sep 27 – Liz brought the quilt up. I started quilting it. I put the Denver Post box down at
the mail box. I washed & waxed the Buick.
Sep 28 – Wind blew hard all day. I quilted on Liz’s quilt. We covered the tomatoes.
Sep 29 – I quilted all day on Liz’s quilt.
Sep 30 – Cool. I quilted a while. Opal was here.
Oct 1 – We fixed the dog pen into a goose pen and put them in it. I quilted.
Sunday, Oct 2 – I made ice cream. We had Liz’s birthday dinner down at Gladys’.
Oct 3 – I took Liz’s quilt out of the frames.
Oct 4 – I done 2 sides on Liz’s quilt. Cold & rainy all day.
Oct 5 – Nicer day. Cindy came up. She was sick all day. I took the tape back in. I did one
side on Liz’s quilt.
Oct 6 – I cleaned house. Cindy went to school. Gladys went to Casper to see Charley.
Oct 7 – Cool & cloudy. Ada & Arnold Spencer got here about 2:00. Shirley brought
Marian up. I made krautburgers.
Oct 8 – Ada & Arnold left this morning. Marian & I goofed off all day.
Sunday, Oct 9 – Shirley came after Marian. We had a good visit.
Oct 10 – I done a huge washing and done the ironing.
Oct 11 – I finished the last side of Liz’s. We went to Ft. Collins & I took Liz’s quilt down
to her. She gave me her frames.
Oct 12 – We went to Ft. Collins & to Steeles.
Oct 13 – I cut out a corduroy shirt for Charley.
Oct 14 – We went to Ft. Collins. I re-done my certificate. I sewed on Charley’s shirt.
Oct 15 – Windy. The horses got out on the road. We fixed the fence.
Sunday, Oct 16 – Gladys came up for dinner. We colored her hair. I called Kenneth.

to look at a house.

Charley’s corduroy shirt. We worked in the cane seed.
Nov 1 – We worked in the cane seed. Charley came by on his way to Wyo.
Nov 2 – I sewed on my India silk dress. We finished with the cane seed.
Nov 3 – We went to Ft. Collins. I sewed on my silk dress.
Nov 4 – We went in to the bank. I went in & Cindy & I & Gladys & Charley went
shopping for wedding cake stuff. I stopped by the auction.

invitation.
Nov 7 – I washed. We went with Gladys & Charley to look at a place over by Windsor. I

watched election returns. Bush won damit!

Sunday, Nov 27 – I went own to Gladys’. I took her a wedding gift, the Maple Leaf Quilt.
Marian called. Willie is in a coma.
Nov 28 – Marian called to say Willie has died this morning. I did a big washing. Doyle &
Sandy repaired the roof on the garage. I ironed.
Nov 29 – Cold. I sewed on the tie quilt. I went in to Gladys’ & picked up my pictures &
Xmas cards.
Nov 30 – Nice day. We went to Ft. Collins. Doyle got his blood test. I sewed on the tie
quilt.
Dec 1 – I sewed the tie quilt. Willed was buried (in Aztec, N. Mex)
Dec 2 – I went over to Cindy’s. We decorated Gladys’ wedding cake. Gladys & Charley
were married. They all came for a wedding supper. We made roses for the cake. Les
worked on the TV.
Dec 3 – Opal, Renee & I made sandwiches. We had Gladys’ & Charlie’s reception at the
Leeper Hall. Angie came up.
Sunday, Dec 4 – Nice day. Angie was here. Gladys & Charley came up for supper.
Dec 5 – Beautiful day. I put dishes & things away. Angie left. I made 2 blocks.
Dec 6 – Nice day. Angie stayed all nite. I wrapped Kenneth’s pkg.
Dec 7 – Ground white this morning. It snowed about all day. I sewed.
Dec 8 – Awful cold. I sewed on quilt blocks.
Dec 9 – We went in to the Auction, but didn’t stay.
Dec 10 – We went to town for groceries. Angie came in the eve.
Sunday, Dec 11 – We stayed home all day. Gladys & Charley came in the eve.
Dec 12 – I went down to Pam’s. We made a VCR tape. Charley & us went to look at a
place S.E. of town.
Dec 13 – I washed and we went to Ault. I got 16 skeins of thread.
Dec 14 – It snowed all day.
Dec 15 – Snowed all day. I made a batch of peanut brittle & worked on quilt blocks.
Dec 16 – Cold. Charley brot the dogs up. They left for Fla. Awful cold. Doyle went to the
Auction. I mopped the kitchen. I gave myself a Lilt perm.
Dec 17 – Nice day. I put up decorations. We brot Toni’s pickup over here.
Sunday, Dec 18 – Nice day. I went down & checked on Gladys’ house.
Dec 19 – Cold & snowy. We went in to Colleen’s store. We decided it was too cold for
Cindy & Les to come for supper. Angie came & spent the night.
Dec 20 – Angie left this morn. I made peanut brittle. I started cutting out a quilt for
Kenneth.
Dec 21 – Nice day. We went grocery shopping. Cindy & Les & Angie were here for
supper. Les worked on the TV.
Dec 22 – Awful windy. I sewed on the rail fence blocks.
Dec 23 – Cold. We stayed in. Pam came and brot Xmas stuff & a turkey.
Dec 24 – I took candy to Turners & Kellys and went in to Loreen Shea’s to see about a
lace collar.
Sunday, Dec 25 – I cooked the turkey & we had Xmas dinner at Bobby & Pam’s.
Dec 26 – 3” of snow this morning.
Dec 27 – Awful cold. I went in and checked on Gladys’ house.
Dec 28 – I cut out quilt blocks. Angie came up to get doctored. We got a pky from David
& Faye.
Dec 29 – Cold. We went to Ft. Collins. I got 10 yds of fabric at G. W. Doyle got a
haircut. I got 2 new blouses at K-Mart.
Dec 30 – Cindy came over. We made a lot of cinnamon rolls for our freezers. Angie was
here.
Dec 31 – Nice day. Pat came & pd. Doyle. I sewed & cleaned house.
