WORK EXPERIENCE:
Pixelexx Systems Inc., Chicago, IL
Intern
Developed techniques for spin-coating thin, transparent films of the piezoelectric polymer Polyvinylidene
fluoride (PVDF) for possible application to semiconductor devices for use in bio-sensing, touch sensing, or
acoustic microscopy. Became acquainted with various types of transistors used for detection of biological
molecules such as DNA and associated manufacturing techniques.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
Dept. of Electrical Engineering Princeton University
June 2012-Present
Power Usage in Computing Centers
Working with Professor David Wentzlaff to analyze power consumption patterns at large data centers to
determine what configurations of datacenter components and climate settings could minimize power
consumption without impacting performance.
Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Princeton University
Modeling Transmission of the Influenza Virus
June-July 2012
Worked with Dr. Nimalan Arinaminpathy on a project to model the spread of influenza virus from endemic
to non-endemic regions. The goal of the project is to identify a vaccination threshold at which transmission
is mitigated to a level essentially resembling herd immunity.
Blood Center of Wisconsin and Medical College of Wisconsin
2008-2011
Influenza Epidemiology with Dr. Andrea Ferrante
2010-2011
Designed cohort study comparing incidence of 2009H1N1 influenza in groups in the US inoculated against
the A/New Jersey/1976 strain of the virus. Regional Finalist, presented paper at National Young
Epidemiological Scholars competition. (April 2011)
Independent Study in Epidemiology (MIT’s Open Course Ware)
2010-2011
Protein modeling of the immune response to influenza virus – with Dr. Andrea Ferrante 2008-2009
Protein modeling of transcription regulation - with Dr. Sarah Kohler
2009-2010
