Despite/In spite of Although/Even though
The expressions "despite" and "in spite of mean the same thing as
"although " and "even though."
However, "Despite" and "In spite of" are followed by nouns or gerunds.
Example: Despite/In spite of his tiredness, he continued working.
Despite/In spite of being tired, he continued working.
Despite/In spite of the fact that he was tired, he
continued working.
On the other hand, "Although/Even though" are followed by somebody or
something and then a verb.
Example: Although/Even though he was tired, he continued working.
