Complete your portion of the application (or apply online). Bring the application to the Guidance office; print out counselor portion if applying online. Fill out the short processing form available from Mrs. Deans, the Guidance Secretary. Provide an envelope addressed to the college or university and the postage. STUDENT VISITATION IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR COLLEGE DECISION PROCESS. HERE ARE SOME POSSIBILITIES: ANDERSON UNIVERSITY Department Days are for students who are sure of the major they are pursuing. Visit their web site for the dates. Discovery Days are campus visit days which are designed to introduce prospective students and their parents to the variety of opportunities available at Anderson University. The Discovery Day program includes a campus tour and presentations in the areas of academics, financial aid, student life and athletics. A typical Discovery Day program begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 1:00 p.m. (Saturdays begin at 9:00 a.m.) A continental breakfast and lunch are provided. Individual appointments with professors, coaches, academic advisors, financial aid officers and admissions counselors are available during weekday visits if arrangements are made in advance. Overnight residence hall accommodations are available for prospective students with three days advance notice. We encourage guests to make reservations for a visit day 5 to 7 days in advance to allow for the mailing of the confirmation letter, parking pass, campus map, hotel information, and travel instructions. Saturday visits are available from September through April. A group information session is offered at 10:00 a.m. followed by a walking tour at 11:00 a.m. A complimentary lunch in a residence hall is offered following the tour. Appointments with faculty members and visits to classrooms are not available on Saturdays. Cardinal Preview Days During Cardinal Preview Days, you and your family--along with other prospective students--may tour the campus and learn about academic programs, admissions criteria, student life, scholarships, and financial aid. Shaffer) Scholarship – has just been received in our office. This $24,000 scholarship to IPFW will be awarded to one student. The application requires a recommendation form completed by a JA Economics teacher and a letter of endorsement from an educator, as well as a synopsis of your career objectives. Postmark deadline is May 1, 2009. 8. Snider PTSA – hopes to help a Snider senior with post-high school education or training. The scholarship amount is $300, and the funds may be used by the student for any need in connection with continuing education. The scholarship is non-renewable, and requires two references. Towns of Harmony Scholarship – A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a young woman who has been accepted into a baccalaureate degree program in music or music education and will be a 2009 high school graduate. Nursing Scholarship Fund – 2.0 GPA or higher; demonstrate financial need; and agree to work as a nurse in Indiana for at least two years after graduation. Nelson Snider, deals primarily in loans to students. The foundation also distributes some scholarships for which their loan recipients may be eligible. Students must be permanent residents of Allen County or graduates of an Allen County high school (G.E.D. accepted). Applying for funds requires: 1. Students must demonstrate financial need. 2. Students must work with a financial aid officer at the institution they expect to attend and file applications for any financial aid available from the school. 3. Students must file an application for assistance from Questa no later than June 10 and include a transcript of their most recent high school grades. (GPA must be 2.75 or better.) 4. In order for half of the borrowed funds to be forgiven, students must graduate with a 2.75 GPA or higher and choose to reside and work in northeast Indiana for five years after college. 5.
