Christie Wilkewitz
Christie Wilkewitz is a Group Practice Operations Director for the Department of
Pediatrics and the School-Based Community Health Program at Henry Ford Health
System in Detroit. She has a double Master’s degree in Public Health and Health
Education. She previously held a variety of leadership positions in health care, community health, health promotion, and school-based health care.
She is the recipient of numerous awards, including, in 2011,the Henry Ford Health
System Diversity Hero Award; 2010 Mayor’s State of the City Honoree; 2009 Taylor
Rotary Service to the Community Award Recipient; 2007 Michigan Hospital
Association’s Ludwig Award; 2007 American Hospital Association’s Nova Award ; 2006
Oakwood Healthcare System’s “Program of the Year” Award.
Christie believes that every child deserves a fair opportunity regardless of race, creed or socio-economic status to receive quality healthcare, education and respect. She got involved in the Henry Ford School-Based Program because she loves young people and understands that they are the key to our future. This program serves twelve Detroit schools, two Detroit community centers and one Warren school all within a fifteen-mile radius of Henry Ford’s Detroit campus. She is devoted to the success and well-being of each child the program serves. Her positive attitude and dedication are evident through her efforts in incorporating programs for those in need into the workings of each center.
She works tirelessly to improve the lives and clinical outcomes of every patient she encounters in a safe and fun environment.
Mrs. Wilkewitz is a leader among leaders with expertise in school-based programs, nonprofit executive leadership and process improvement. As a board member for CIS, her contributions to the development, implementation and evaluation of programs, especially
CIS services that support the health and well-being of students and their families are paramount to CIS’ successful program outcomes.
