Benefits as a BMDAM member

Network with other members and people engaged in the industry through various events and
functions organised by the association such as Golf Tournament, Social Nite, Annual Dinner, New
Year Gathering, Exhibition, Seminar etc. Members can get to meet many fellow members and
principals in these functions to exchange ideas, information and knowledge.
2. Platform for distributors to convey views/issues affecting the industry and their businesses more
effectively through dialogue meetings with relevant Government Ministries and Agencies such as: Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs (MDTCA)
 Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI)
 Ministry of Housing & Local Government (MHLG)
 Construction & Industry Development Board (CIDB)
 Cement & Concrete Association (C&CA)
 Malaysia Iron & Steel Industry Federation (MISIF)
 Master Builders Association of Malaysia (MBAM)
 Real Estate & Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (REHDA).
3. Be kept informed of vital changes to and requirements of related Government policies &
regulations affecting the industry. Such government directives are normally channeled first to the
association.
4. Be kept informed on latest development of the building materials industry regarding supply,
demand, pricing, exhibitions etc.
5. Benefits from taking part in useful seminars, talks and other similar meetings held by the
association to enhance product knowledge for the sales and related personnel at preferential rates.
6. Be identified as a reliable member of a reputable association which maintains close rapport with
other related associations in the industry and be linked with regional / international groups with
similar objectives
7. The body to monitor and stabilize pricing, instill cooperation amongst all distributors to bring about
better profits for members.
8. A member is entitled to participate in the Credit Bureau Database. This initiative allows members of
the building industry to share information with the objective of reducing/minimizing credit risks,
increase profitability and expedite recovery of bad debts at concessionary rates.
9. An avenue to trade opportunities / market intelligence on distribution of products.
10. Members are able to place advertisements on new products and services on BMDAM website and
bulletins.
11. There is a duly appointed legal adviser to provide legal advice to members.
12. BMDAM maintains a mini library / resource centre to enable members to conduct research on data
or information related to the building industry.
