What a long road has been traveled since the day Christ revealed himself to the disciples on the road to Emmaus. All: Yet it is the same road we walk again today. Christ is still speaking. Christ is still inviting us to this table of grace and healing. May this Communion conquer all our doubts and fears and be for everyone a sign of Christ’s presence in our lives. All: O Risen Christ, the bread we break at this table is a sign of the brokenness of all the world. Through our sharing of the Bread of Life and the Cup of Blessing open our eyes and hands to the needs of all people. Let our hearts be filled with joyful love, yearning to share your gifts, and help us to go forth into the world with Bread: Bread of Hope, Bread of Life, Bread of Peace.
