Through the Spring and Summer quarters, the Wednesday Night Fifth Graders taught by Sharon Archibald worked to pool dimes and nickels together to help a family in Hondurus. Together they raised $200, selected a calf that would suit the family, and had it delivered. The class members are Andrew Crouch, Hayden Fly, Alex Gaw, Abbey Hackett, Luke Lewis, Olivia Meek, Lillie Morris, Kevin Tolentino, and Ethan Willis. These Fifth Graders teach us again what can be done with compassion, determination, and cooperation. We commend them all! Be sure to see the pictures of these class members--and the purchased calf--on the hall monitors. We would like to get information packets and teen assignments out quickly so mentors can get started. COLLEGE ADDRESSES Woodson's college students are now settling in at school for the year. Parents, please turn in your student's mailing and email address(es) on your attendance card so we can keep in touch with him/her while away at school. PROFITABLE DEVOTION An old woman who was alone for the greater part of the day was asked, "What do you do during the day?" "Well," she said, "I get my hymnbook, and I sing a little hymn of praise to the Lord. Then," she added, "I get my Bible and let the Lord speak to me. When I am tired of reading and I can't sing anymore, I just sit still and let the Lord love me." Unknown Thanks to our wonderful family of friends at Woodson Chapel for the beautiful flowers, prayers, the many cards, calls and visits. A special thanks to the ladies who took time out of their busy day to cook and bring wonderful hot meals during my recovery. Your thoughts and kindness helps brighten my days. Just as a roadmap has little value when used as a tablecloth, but is indispensable when we take a trip in unfamiliar territory, so our Bibles are valueless as shelf ornaments, but priceless as guides to daily religious living.
