Children have flashcards showing
j’aime and je n’aime pas.
Teacher holds up food flashcard
and says name of item. Children
repeat word and hold up relevant
flashcard.
Together say either j’aime or je
n’aime pas to the item.

Register: Children say a food that they like, e.g. j’aime les chips
Make a French tally chart of likes and dislikes
P.E. Run to relevant items. Multiple copies of the 6 items to avoid safety issues!

Register: Children say a drink that they like, e.g. j’aime le coca
Use giant puppet to say j’aime le cafe, et toi? Children join in too if they also like it item.
Hide items that children find difficult to pronounce. One item leaves room and when they
come back rest of class chant name louder and quieter according to how near the person
is to the hidden object.
Maths/ICT: food survey, record results on a spreadsheet and display as a graph.
