Performance First- October 2013 Newsletter
Dancers Attire: Please insure that your child is properly dressed for dance. All dancers should be wearing a body suit and tights (skirt is optional), all dancers should have their hair pulled back off their face (pony tail or bun works best). They should also have the proper dance shoes to go with whichever classes they are in. If you are unsure of which shoes your child needs please check online @ www.shakerswellness.com

Practice: It Is very important for ALL dancers to be practicing at home. Once your dancers music has been picked they will receive a cd with their song(s). Please ensure your dancer listens to their music often and practices and STRETCHES at every opportunity.
Bad weather/cancelled classes: When we are concerned about road conditions we may cancel a class, you will be notified by e-mail or text message, also you can check online on the Performance First group page on Facebook, if you are not a member yet, please send a request. , it is much easier for us to send mass e-mails to everyone so, in order to stay updated you MUST be checking your e-mail.
Costumes Deposits: Due December 1st, 2013
Babes, Tots, Primary & Recreational Dancers: Initial costume deposits of $50 per class are due December 1st, 2013.
Costumes usually range from $60-$100 per costume. Final costume bills will go out in January and are due upon receipt.
Competitive dancers & Primary Ballet: Initial deposit of $125 per group are due
December 1st ($50 deposit per costume + $25 entry fee X 3 festivals=$125) Costumes range from $75-$175 per costume. Entry Fees for competitions are $25 per group per competition. The balance for the costumes will be due upon receipt of the final bill, this bill is usually handed out mid January.
Costume arrival date is March 31st.
Costumes will remain the property of Performance
First until they are paid for in full.
NOTE this does include costume deposit or entry fees for solos or duets, please contact your teacher for further details.
Competitive Dancers * Hip Hop Choreography Dance & Pizza Party!!
Competitive dancers ONLY, you are invited to attend our Hip Hop choreography dance party. You will learn an entire dance in 1 day!!! And have fun doing it!!! Follow up practices will be scheduled accordingly. This dance will be going to competitions.
Date: Saturday November 23rd Time: 2 pm - 6 pm Place: Studio
Cost: $35 (Includes Pizza, Drinks, Snacks, & Practices)

Competitions & Festivals 2014
After careful deliberation and calculation of votes it has been decided that we will attend
3 festivals this year!! You will notice however that the 3rd festival date is different than originally stated. It was decided that 3 festivals in a row was of no benefit to our dancers. In order for dancers to improve and score higher we needed to spread out the first 2 .. we also wanted to keep it to 1 away festival, and tried to find a 3-4 day festival instead of a 5-14 day festival. We also had to consider that spring break is the first week of April, and Easter falls on 3rd weekend in April.... So with all that it mind Santana
Dance Festival in St.Albert April 11-14 was picked. This will be our first time to this festival and this location, it is however run by Shy-Ann dance productions which we have attend there Shy-Ann festival many times as well as there Sundance Festival.
