Instructor Choreography Challenge
This exciting new addition to the Windy City event puts two teams of instructors to the
test to see who can create the best dance and you get to take part in the voting process!
The teams:
Team 1 – John Robinson, Junior Willis & Bryan McWherter
Team 2 – Guyton Mundy, Rachael McEnaney & Joey Warren
The Prize:
$600 to be split by each of the members of the winning team.
Here’s how it works:
On Thursday night, both teams along with the Thursday Night dancers will get to hear
five pieces of music each selected by your Event Directors and DJ’s. Each team will
choose one of the selections for their challenge and in the case both want the same piece
of music, it will be first come, first serve so they may need to decide fast.
Each team will then have two hours of assigned time on Friday (as well as any other time
they wish to get together on their own) to create their dance.
Both dances will be demoed and taught on Saturday in the main ballroom to all dancers
who wish to participate. After completing the class, all of the dancers will fill out forms
ranking the dance on a scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being the best. Their average score will
be tabulated.
On Saturday night the instructors will demo the dances for the Saturday Night judges
along with any dancers who wish to participate.
The judges will also score the dance from 1 to 5. The judges average score and the
dancers average score will be totaled and averaged and the best overall score will be
crowned the winner.
