Report from Chair: The Lambeth PPG Steering Group have formed several Task and Finish groups who are currently working on a set of 'toolkit' information packs to enable all Lambeth Patient Groups to become established. Practice update: Access Hub: Following last month's application to the Prime Minister's Challenge Fund, the practice has been shortlisted to be an access hub providing GP and nursing care to Streatham Patients. The Final decision is due within the next couple of weeks and service due to start mid-September. This would not reduce the number of appointments available at the practice. Funds would be made available to recruit extra admin and clinical staff. Appointment reminder via text message: The practice is still waiting for further news from the Lambeth CCG regarding introduction of this service to all Lambeth patients due to commence in September 2015. Patient Group suggests practice includes a message regarding the monetary value of missed appointments. FFT (Friends and Family Test): At the last meeting the Patient Group requested an additional question regarding satisfaction of the queuing system at the front desk and also space for patients to leave their contact details. The slips were edited and available at the beginning of August. Feedback will be available at September's Patient Group Meeting. Staffing Update: Re: the GP Team, sadly Dr Southworth will be leaving next month. The practice has recruited a new male doctor, Dr. A.Khan, who will be starting on 3rd September 2015. The practice also has a new rotation of GP Learners – Dr. R.Bhadeshra (female) is with the practice for a year; Dr. A.Khan (female) and Dr. N.Pakroo (female) are with us for four months. Reception Team: Sehrima (Reception Apprentice) started with us last month. She will also be studying business administration and customer care. We will be sad to see both Gemma and Jan leaving us next month. We are currently interviewing for two new Receptionists. Baldry Gardens: The future of GP services at Baldry Gardens did not get discussed at the last joint commissioning meeting. It is due to be on the agenda for the September meeting. Elaine will feed back at the next Patient Group meeting. Guildersfield Road premises: The practice has put in a bid for monies available from NHS England's improvement grant fund. The practice would like to improve the flooring in consulting rooms by replacing the carpet with vinyl flooring which is CQC (Care Quality Commission) infection control compliant. Additionally, the pathway between the gate and the front door needs replacing as some of the block paving occasionally becomes loose and could be a tripping hazard. Val Newey pointed out that the flooring in the waiting room has become loose and Elaine will investigate. Practice Booklet: This is due for review. Elaine requested that Patient Group members notify her of any changes by Friday, 4th September, 2015. Named GP: Practices are required to notify all patients of their names GP by 31.03.2016. Patients can still see whichever doctor they choose at the practice. Patient Group suggests sharing this information on the right-hand side of repeat prescriptions.
