University of Toronto can now check out an

Graduates earn a BCom with a specialization in
Accounting, Finance & Economics or Management
(with optional concentrations in international

MCMASTER
McMaster’s annual leadership conference will
take place from May 16th until May 18th, 2014.
The price currently is $180 plus taxes. For more

UBC SUMMER SCHOLARS PROGRAM
Grade 10 and 11 students are offered a unique
opportunity to learn about environmental science at
one of the world’s top ranked universities. Students
will attend morning lectures taught by UBC
professors and then spend their afternoons
conducting field research examining topics ranging
from water and forest management to urban
planning. Students will live and learn on UBC’s
Okanagan campus in Kelowna, BC while exploring
Canada’s beautiful Okanagan Valley from July 16
to 26, 2014. For more information, go to

HELIX SUMMER SCIENCE INSTITUTE AT YORK
UNIVERSITY
Helix Summer Science Institute is a new summer
program designed specifically for high performing
students who have a strong interest in science and
math. This program is intended to encourage youth
to pursue studies and careers in the areas of
biology, chemistry, physics and applied
mathematics. Helix consists of week-long noncredit courses for students in Grades 9-12 that runs
in the month of July. The deadline to be
considered for the first round of admissions is
April 30, 2014. For application details see

SOCIAL CHANGE YOUTH
LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
SCYLC is an annual conference hosted by
Engineers Without Borders U of T Chapter.
Participants will be engaged in activities and
workshops on social change, technology and
putting education into action. This year’s theme
“Pen On Paper” embodies the impact that
education has on us and the community. Don’t
miss this great opportunity to network and share
ideas with other students, professors, corporate
executives and entrepreneurs. This year the
SCYLC Conference will take place on May 3rd
and 4th at the University of Toronto with an all-
inclusive fee of $75 which includes residence
costs.

DKE SCHOLARSHIPS
For males attending the University of
Toronto there are 6 $500 scholarships
available from the DKE fraternity. For more

NATIONAL UNION SCHOLARSHIPS
If your mother/ father
grandmother/grandfather is a member of a
national Union (OPSEU and CUBGW) then
you are eligible to apply for these
scholarships for students applying to postsecondary school. Application forms can be

WIESENTHAL SCHOLARSHIP
7 scholarships ranging from $1800 to $7200
in value for students who exemplify
leadership/involvement in activities and
initiatives that support social justice and
human rights and counter anti-Semitism,
racism, bullying, and homophobia. For

CATHERINE HOWARD SOCIETY
This scholarship is available to an African
Canadian student from North York who is
applying to post-secondary with a minimum
B average. Applicants must have financial

company. 15 youth will receive between
$1500 - $3000 of free money (not a loan)
and some training to start their own

have, mowed lawns, make floorplans for
houses for sale, gave art lessons, painted
rooms, fixed computers). This is a great
