$1200 made on Booths at Xmas Bazaar…NOT $11,200

Going great….
Noon time sports for all grade levels on both playgrounds…
Participation is growing
Working on nutrition; working on understanding labels and ingredients; understanding
advertising and creating healthy snacks
Wendy Padua just got money for recess equipment and they have been working together
based on Play Works model they both participated in…
Suggestion for Josh to present to Student Leadership Group as to what is avail and also
have teachers review/remind their kids on the Monday
Suggestion that daily activities are announced in morning announcements, at lunch and
posters made
Leadership/Gwendolyn to put together an activities calendar; kid and adult version; to
check in with Christine in office to see format etc…
Strategies to Improve Communication between parents and teachers
Teachers not getting enough time to review/meet prior to decisions being made…getting
the info that they need in advance…Teachers would like to be more “in the know” and
more helpful vs. reactive to up and coming
Possibilities:
Agenda ahead of time
Publish the minutes post meeting
Create a PTO board in community room with upcoming events, topics, contact info etc…
Regular meet between Gwendolyn and Liz (and open to teacher if desired) and then can
be presented to staff at their meetings.
Liz created/included doc noting the various ways that FV PTO has communication
available; website, meetings, newsletters, calendars, reps, splash, Google discussion
groups, FV Parents Facebook Page, PTO Executive Board members (contact info)
Need to have a balance as to HOW MUCH info is put out….teachers to give feedback if
overwhelming. Splash is a good start
Parent Info:
-Moonridge feedback was that all of the info coming home was too much and too
complicated; but Robo calls are great.
-“verbal” splash as a possibility?
Communication topic tabled…needs to be separate group or another meeting
Teacher Stipend
Teacher Stipend Checklist; info on how to get from Liz
Liz to send out Expense Form for use
Can be direct reimbursement or vendor can be paid directly
Submit directly to Gwendolyn and she will forward to Liz
MONEY MUST BE USED IN THIS CALENDAR YEAR (2012)

Promotional Piece for FV
Some parents have volunteered to create this…for incoming parents, to give out at
events, etc to highlight what makes FV special.

Auction is March 17…biggest fundraiser we do; theme is “O’Farallone” pub
Flyers going home this week for donations
Donations work in community in progress
On target so far in general for fund Raising
Need someone to take over Original Art prior to Mothers/Fathers Day
Original Art:
Teachers should know packets are coming out middle of the month…need back by mid
feb to submit to get by end april
Voluntary Tuition was originally put out to reduce other fundraising events (in lieu of)
No plans to take away any current fundraising, although we did get rid of gift wrap
