Applications are invited for a walk in interview to be held in the Conference Room of the
Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering
on February 12, 2016, 11:00 am for two
temporary positions of Research Associate in two different DBT, Govt. of India funded
projects (1) Unit on excellence in Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology: “Investigation on
evolutionary pressure for unique redox metabolism of Leishmania parasite” (2) Optimization of
novel antileishmania scaffold 4-(4,4,8-Trimethyl-7-oxo-3-oxabicyclo[3.3.1]non-2-yl)-benzoic acid
methyl ester, a oxabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanones: A mechanistic study
Scale of pay: Rs. Rs. 36,000 + HRA as per institute Norms for first year and subsequent
increment as per the revised DST OM SR/S6/Z-09/2012 dated October 21, 2014
Qualification: PhD equivalent degree in any life science related subjects. For project (1)
Candidates with experience in Protein Biochemistry/Infectious disease biology/Molecular Biology
will be preferred and for project (2) Candidates with experience in Protein Biochemistry/ Medicinal
Chemistry will be preferred.
Terms: Appointment will be initially made for a period of one (1) year and may be extended for up
to maximum duration of the project.
Application & Selection procedure: Candidates have to appear in the walk-in-interview in person
along with an application/CV giving details of all educational qualifications, experience and submit
photocopies of relevant documents at the time of interview. Selection will be based on the
performance of the candidate in the interview. Candidates will not be sent any interview call letter
separately. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for appearing in the interview. Selection is not
possible without appearing in the interview. All candidates must report by 10:00 am on the date of
interview.
