Planet Rap
These are the planets, yes sirree!
Name them as you rap with me.
First is Mercury, hot and dry.
Next is Venus, its temperature’s so high.
Our planet is Earth, we think it’s pretty nice.
Mars comes next, its water’s turned to ice.
Jupiter is large, no planet can match its size!
Saturn’s pretty rings are a treasure for your eyes.
Uranus follows, it’s tipped on its side.
Neptune has clouds over 100 miles wide.
Pluto is last, it’s farthest from the Sun.
We’ve visited all the planets.
Now I think we’re done!
Ordering the Planets
(sung to tune Knick, Knack Paddywack)
Mercury, number one,
Is the planet by the sun,
With a knick-knack, paddywack,
Far away in space,
Mercury is in first place.
Venus is number two.
It’s the one that’s greenish blue,
With a knick-knack, paddywack,
Far away in space,
Venus is in second place.
Planet Earth, number three,
It’s the place for you and me,
With a nick-knack, paddywack,
Floating deep in space,
Planet Earth is in third place.
Bright red Mars, number four,
It’s the planet right next door,
With a knick-knack, paddywack,
Far away in space,
Planet Mars is in fourth place.
Number five, Jupiter,
It’s the biggest one by far,
With a knick-knack, paddywack,
Far away in space,
Jupiter is in fifth place.
Number six, Saturn’s nice
With its rings of rocks and ice,
With a knick-knack, paddywack,
Far away in space,
Planet Saturn’s in sixth place.
Seventh spot is Neptune,
It’s blue-green and has two moons,
With a knick-knack, paddywack,
Far away in space,
Neptune is in seventh place.
Uranus, number eight,
On its side instead of straight.
With a knick-knack, paddywack,
Far away in space,
Uranus is in eighth place.
Pluto is number nine,
It’s the farthest in the line,
With a knick-knack, paddywack,
Far away in space,
Pluto sits in the ninth place.
