Friday 27th February Dear Parents and Carers, This week in storytelling we have been learning the story ‘The Enormous Crocodile’ by Roald Dahl. It is a fabulous defeating the monster tale about a cheeky crocodile. We have been drawing the story map and learning the story using actions and key words. In maths this week we have been looking at our 3 times tables learning them forwards and backwards and what pattern the 3 times table is. We have also been looking at odd and even numbers . Next week we will be looking at telling the time and using our 5 times tables to help us. Here is a lovely website to help learning the time. http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/measures.htm In SOLE we have been introduced to our new topic which is Africa and plants. This week we have completed a science plants giggle to find out what we already know about plants. Next week in SOLE the children are going to become nature detectives and see if they can hunt for wild and garden plants around our school. We will also be looking at Labelling and drawing the parts of the plants The trip to the Zoo was fabulous and we saw lots of African plants and animals . We learnt about the crocodiles habitat and why it needs to be so humid! Please see the website for our photos. We learnt lots about animal’s natural habitats. Next we are going to have a fabulous African art dazzle day. We will make 3D animal masks of our choice. How exciting.
