2008 MILESTONES
In 2008, DISH Network continued to raise the bar, reaching new heights within the industry:
 More than doubled our national HD channel count (DISH Network offers more than 122
national HD channels)
 Continued to launch HD locals in more markets (DISH Network offers HD locals in 87
markets, 77% of U.S. TV households)
 Launched the industry’s only 100% HD suite of programming packages, TurboHD
 Became the first (and only) pay-TV provider to offer movies in 1080p resolution quality,
comparable to Blu Ray disc
 Continued to offer the highest-ranked/best dual-tuner HD DVR on the market, the ViP®
722 HD DVR
 Lead the digital transition by offering a variety of solutions, including the DTVPal DVR
(the only digital-to-analog converter box sold in the U.S. that offers DVR functionality)
and the DTVPal (ranked “top choice” by CNET), as well as the TR-40 CRA
 Continued to offer the lowest everyday prices, including the introduction of the American
and Latino Welcome Packs in addition to the Locals Only package ($9.99 each, or
$14.99 when bundling Locals with a Welcome Pack, saving $5)
