Be able to describe the basic procedure for post-mortem examination. Understand the principles of post-mortem change and incidental findings. Demonstrate an understanding of the pathogenesis of disease as it relates to the body systems at a macroscopic and basic microscopic level. Understand the principles of sample collection and interpretation of basic haematology, clinical biochemistry and cytology data. Understand the principles of tissue sampling and handling for histopathology. Assessment Information In-course assessment: 20 Multiple choice question assessment in week 5 based on course to date – This taken as part of ‘Semester 1 MCQ Assessment’. 30mins allocated to Vet Path (13%) Engaging with Peerwise System – 2 Questions submitted, commented on and answered (2%) Written degree examination at the end of semester 1 (85%) Paper 1 MCQ paper (40%) Paper 2 Written/SPOTs examination will take place in a lecture theatre or computer laboratory and will consist of images and associated questions.
