Course Resources
Required Course Text: Managing Human Resource 5ed - Luis R. Gomez - Mejia, David B. Balkin-0-13173660-4 - Pearson, 2007.
Course Format
The class will consist of weekly lectures, class discussions, Chapter presentations, and Final Project.
Students will need to invite his/her classmates to create teams for Chapter presentations and Final Project.
Class Discussion grade will be based on students’ overall contribution to class discussions, every
presentation, and homework/assignment out of the book.
Submission of chapter presentations in ppt files, including written answers to all chapter questions, is
required via email at least 2 (two) days prior to class date.
Final Project (Human Resource Plan) will replace normal Final Test, and will be provided before Midterm
Test. Partial submission as scheduled is strictly required (see Course Schedule). Revised writings
submission, following comments and/or guidelines from Instructor from time to time would be accepted.

Course Policies
The use of laptops and tablets in class for presentation purpose and review session is allowed. Other
purposes of electronic device use in class and in tests are not allowed as they may drive students to
distraction from lectures.
All cell phones, if not in urgent case, must be muted or in vibration mode to avoid academic process
disruption. Emergency call can be made out of class.
Make-up Exam Policy: Make-up exams will not be given unless the student has a verifiable, valid excuse
that has been discussed with and agreed by the instructor in advance.
At instructor’s sole discretion for very limited cases, provisions for missed exams may be made for
extraordinary situations. Students who may miss an exam should make every effort to get written permission
from instructor prior to the exam.
Attendance: Regular class attendance is expected, and poor attendance may reduce a student’s class
discussion grade. Students are expected to submit their written absence request to the office or instructor
before class. Those who are absent more than six (6) hours will be dropped from the course and will receive
an F.
Academic Honesty
Cheating in any form and plagiarism will not be tolerated. Any student discovered cheating on an
examination or plagiarizing in writing assignment will be dropped from the course and receive an F, and if
deemed necessary, the matter will be forwarded through the channels prescribed in the SaigonTech Student
Handbook.
