The four men see Jonathan laying on the bed in a trance and a tall thin man clad in black
standing up with Mina. The man is Count Dracula and he is forcing Mina to drink his blood
from the wound in his chest, and the Count has also just finished in drinking Mina’s blood. The
Count flees from the room when the men enter leaving Mina sobbing on the bed and Jonathan in
a waking state. Pg. 387-389
15. Upon escaping, what does the Count do with the typed manuscript and phonograph diary
entries?
Count Dracula burns all the diaries and records that were in the study. Luckily Jonathan had an
extra copy so they were safe. Pg. 392
16. Recount Mina’s description of her encounter with Dracula.
Mina says that she was in between sleep and wakefulness when a mist began to creep under the
door as it had in her first dream. As she looked on and the mist grew thicker it suddenly
disappeared leaving the Count in its place. The Count threatened Mina with Jonathan’s life and
begins drinking her blood. He then tears his shirt open and makes a wound on his chest gushing
with blood. The Count forces Mina’s mouth to the wound making her drink his blood.
